Why it is important to raise your voice?

When your parents don’t allow you to go to school, college, or university because you are a girl

When your office boss refuses to give you a pay raise just because they think being a woman means you cannot perform well even when you really do

When a person harasses you or abuses you

When people put unnecessary expectations on you

When your husband doesn’t take your consent, forces you, and eventually rapes you

When society stops you from following your dreams

When a shopkeeper in the supermarket stares at you

When your teacher threatens to fail you in exams if you don’t do what he says

When family members force you to marry even when you don’t want

When someone manipulates you

When the whole world stands against you

Then what you should do? Then what can you do? Then what can save you?

Raising Your Voice

Because when you raise your voice, it shows you exist, it gives a message that you know how to speak up for yourself and that you are not powerless.

Raise your voice because it matters, because YOU matter.
