From Pick-Up Artists to Incels, The Rise of Maladaptive Evolutionary Bias in Men and Boys is Leading to a Rise in Mass Violence in America and No One is Talking About It

When it comes to dating and relationships, emotional intelligence is a key component of a successful, long-term partnership. Yet, as many women can attest, it can be difficult to find men who possess this important quality. Upon reflection of past dating experiences, it is not uncommon to identify a pattern of men lacking emotional intelligence skills. This may be especially true in the world of online dating, where individuals often present themselves as caricatures of traditional gender roles, emphasizing masculinity and physical attractiveness over emotional intelligence and deeper connections. Unfortunately, this pattern is often paired with maladaptive evolutionary bias – deeply ingrained beliefs about gender roles that can make men both unattractive and potentially dangerous as long-term partners. In this article, we will explore the concept of maladaptive evolutionary bias and its impact on modern dating, as well as the importance of emotional intelligence in building healthy, fulfilling relationships. Today’s women are giving up on dating not because of our success in the labor force. It is because we no longer need to rely on being treated as second class citizens within our own homes where we pay half the bills and pick up after our partners as if they are another child.

Unfortunately, many young men today are being indoctrinated into maladaptive evolutionary bias through various media, including social media, podcasts, and online forums. These sources often promote toxic masculinity and misogyny, encouraging men to view women as objects to be conquered or controlled. Podcasts in particular have become a popular source of information and advice for young men, but many of the most popular shows are rooted in biblical racism and sexism. These shows often perpetuate harmful beliefs and stereotypes about women, minorities, and other marginalized groups, while promoting a narrow, exclusionary worldview. This indoctrination can have serious consequences for men, as well as the women they interact with. For example, men who hold more egalitarian beliefs tend to have healthier, more fulfilling relationships, while those who adhere to traditional gender roles have higher rates of divorce, relationship dissatisfaction, and instances of domestic violence (Boenhke, 2011).

Maladaptive evolutionary bias doesn’t stop there. In the 2016 study called, “Gender in Cohabitation and Marriage: The Influence of Gender Ideology on Housework Allocation Over the Life Course” the research findings suggest that the attitudes of married men early in adulthood have a greater impact on the division of labor within the household than the attitudes of married women. This means that men’s beliefs about gender roles and household responsibilities at a young age shape how they perceive and contribute to household tasks in the future (Cunningham, 2016).

Due to financial constraints, many American men hold unrealistic expectations for women to contribute equally to household expenses, cooking, childcare, and housekeeping even while working outside the home. Women view this as a form of oppression and servitude that benefits men while harming them. Consequently, more women are choosing to remain single and avoid the dating scene. Meanwhile, far-right extremist groups are actively seeking out American incels and luring them into pick-up communities with maladaptive evolutionary biases that further radicalize them. As these men struggle to adapt to modern social norms and fail to attract women, they become increasingly angry and externalize their frustrations. They develop unrealistic and idealized expectations of women that do not exist in reality, which leads to further resentment and hostility towards the world. A new research report published today by the American Defamation League cites that all mass shootings that occurred in 2022 were linked to far right ideology. This is something I discuss in my upcoming book, “The Pathway Towards Peace: U.S. Human Rights Manifesto.”

In conclusion, the radicalization pipeline has a clear and direct link to domestic terrorism. Maladaptive evolutionary biases that perpetuate unrealistic expectations of women do not help men attract partners but rather leave them isolated and prone to becoming defenders of patriarchy. This leads to violence and oppression towards those who refuse to live under these outdated beliefs, ultimately harming everyone in society.
