The Fern’s Preseason Fantasy Rankings: QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs
Welcome to the Fern’s first preseason fantasy rankings for the 2017 NFL season. These lists will change throughout the draft process as we gather more information on camp position battles and preseason standouts. I opted not to include kickers and defenses at this time, and may not rank them at all, so feel free to send any questions my way if you need help in selecting a kicker or defense.
As for the rankings themselves, I factored in every part of the offense: o-line, opportunities within an offense, team outlook (GARBAGE TIME WATCH), supporting cast, offensive system, strength of schedule (SOS), etc. I wouldn’t put too much emphasis on SOS at this point in the season in terms of deciding who to draft because defensive projections are largely based on last year’s performance and the NFL changes so much year to year. But finding teams with easy matchups in the playoff weeks (typically 14–17) is never a poor approach.
I will explain my reasoning for my lists in positional previews in the upcoming weeks, and will go through the mindset I bring into each draft on where and when to target players and positions. Dive into these rankings and send me any questions, thoughts, or suggestions you have on where I slotted each player.
Strength of Schedule (SOS) was taken from CBSsports.com where lower the number means a more favorable schedule. (1= easiest, 32= hardest)
