Jack O’Connell Attending The “Party Of The Century”

Jack O’Connell is a young actor who has been on the verge of a major breakthrough for quite some time. While some will argue that his breakthrough already came with the WWII biopic Unbroken back in 2014 where people began to take note of him, he hasn’t necessarily been as in demand as he should be in my opinion.

But he has been steadily working since 2014 where he had Unbroken and the egregiously underseen prison drama Starred Up, acting opposite A-list names like George Clooney and Julia Roberts in Money Monster and appearing in the upcoming period dramas Tulip Fever and HHhH (also known as The Man With The Iron Heart).

Next, he’ll have the currently untitled Alexander McQueen biopic directed by Andrew Haigh (45 Years) which hasn’t started filming yet, the upcoming Netflix miniseries Godless, and it has just been announced he will star opposite Josh Gad and Chloe Grace Moretz in the romance known as Party Of The Century.

Party Of The Century is about a working class elevator worker (O’Connell) and a Hollywood ingenue (Moretz) who unexpectedly fall in love during the Black and White Ball hosted by Truman Capote (Gad) back in 1966 in New York City designed to honor Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham.

Those are all the plot details we know so far but Jack O’Connell’s involvement already has me hooked. I am hoping that maybe this can be a project that takes advantage of his rising star.

According to Variety, shooting to expected to begin later this year.

What do you guys think? Are you intrigued by this project and are you a Jack O’Connell fan as well? Please be sure to leave comments and share your thoughts. Thanks for reading!
