Follow your intuition. It knows the way.

Intuition is this wiser part inside of us that knows the way. I believe everybody has intuition and everybody has access to this intuition. Intuition is very natural.

The main reason that we are not always able to hear our intuition is because the voice in our head is getting in the way. This voice in our head is talking all the time and it is so loud that it is easy to listen to, since it naturally gets our attention. It is usually so loud that we cannot hear other things that are also trying to come to our attention. And even when we happen to hear our intuition in an unguarded moment, the voice in our head will jump right in and convince us that we should not listen to that whisper.

In the moments that our mind is quiet, it is much easier to access our intuition. We all know that great ideas and insights come to us when we are taking a shower or going for a walk in nature. In those moments we feel more relaxed and usually are not thinking so much. Our mind is calm, we feel open and relaxed, and then just naturally our intuition comes through. When the mind is quite we can hear the whisper of our heart.

Our intuition is always there for us, available whenever we need it. So how can we access our intuition, this wise and loving guidance inside of us? One way to hear the loving guidance of our soul is to quieten the loud voice in our head. We may use meditation techniques to quieten the voice in our head. When the mind is quiet it is much easier to notice what else is there.

But even if we do not manage to quieten the mind, there are other ways to access our intuition whenever we need. Accessing our intuition does not need to be complicated or difficult. It can actually be fun!

A fun exercise to tap into your intuition

To get you started, you can do this fun exercise to tap into your intuition. It is not necessary to quieten the mind before you do this exercise. Whatever thoughts are there, you just allow them to be there. In this exercise you will use a creative way to bypass the thinking mind, and receive information from a deeper and wiser part of you. To do this exercise you need some basic materials.

Take a piece of paper and a pencil or colourpencil.

Think about a situation that you would like to receive intuitive guidance on. You can think about a situation and ask for a solution or you can ask a question about it. Now instead of thinking about the answer, you are going to draw the answer or solution on your paper.

Just draw in an innocent way. This is not about making a perfect and beautiful piece of art. Just allow whatever you feel like, whatever wants to be expressed on your paper. Don’t think about it, draw the first thing that occurs to you and get it out there on your paper. Draw your own solution or answer.

I would like to share my own experience with this exercise as an example. I considered taking a short course, related to my business, and wondered if it would be a good next step for me.

So I asked, is this course a good next step for me?

The answer came immediately, and is shown in the picture.

It indicates to me that the course would be uplifting for a short period, but then the energy would ebb down again, leaving me where I started before taking this course.

The answer is simple. The answer is clear. The answer speaks for itself.
