“ A great attitude does much more than turn on the lights in our worlds; it seems to magically connect us to all sorts of serendipitous opportunities that were somehow absent before the change. “ — Earl Nightingale

Whether you like mathematics or not, have you ever considered implementing some simple mathematical principles in your life to obtain magical results? Would you like to use the numbers in your favor and start bringing some magic in your life? Usually in the science of mathematics, numbers and what you do with them are logical and consistent. However real life is not always predictable, and you may discover that there is more to mathematics when you start applying it in your life in a creative way. Would you be open to play with the numbers, and create some magic and unexpected outcomes in your life? Then keep reading, to learn more about the magic of mathematics, and how numbers can change your attitude and your life. These mathematical magic rules are not meant to be interpreted as facts or as the absolute truth, but they are meant to inspire you and help you step more fully into life’s infinite possibilities.

The 100 % rule

When you give 20 %, you get 20 %

When you give 50 %, you get 50 %

When you give 80 %, you get 80 %

When you give 100 %, you get 200 %

The 100 % rule says that if you want to achieve personal success in any endeavor, you must be 100 % committed to it. When you start giving 100 %, that’s where the magic happens. When you start giving all you’ve got, when you do not let any doubts, fears or excuses hold you back any longer, that’s when things really start to open up.

Usually when you do not give 100 %, there is a part of you that is holding back. So if you give 80 %, the 20 % that you are not giving is not just left out, it is actually holding you back. When you really commit to give something your 100 %, no matter what, when nothing is holding you back, that’s when your full power and brilliance is unleashed.

How have you been living by this rule in your own life so far? How often do you give something or someone your 100 %? If you want to start creating some magic in your life by implementing this rule, I suggest you start applying this rule to something that matters most in your life.

The 20 % / 80 % rule

I must have been in my twenties when I had a conversation with an old and wise man. During our conversation he shared his best advice, one of those wise lessons that can make a difference in your life, and I have always remembered it. What he said to me was the following:

“If I can give you only one advice in your life, it is this: Always choose to belong to the 20 % group, instead of the 80 % group.”

What does this mean? Do not live a mediocre life. Do not be afraid to stand out. Have the courage to be extraordinary. Have the courage to be different. Have the courage to go your own way.

It is easy to be mediocre. It is easy to follow the crowd. It is comfortable to fit in. But the problem is that mediocre actions lead to a mediocre life, and although it may be easy and comfortable, it may not get you to the place where you really want to be. It requires courage to go left, where the majority goes right. Yes, when you go further out there then most of us dare, you will encounter challenges, you will encounter difficulties, you will make mistakes. But the rewards are so much bigger than that. I think what it really means is that living by this rule motivates you to go beyond your fears, your comfort zone and the expectations of other people. It motivates you to step in your full power. This is what really makes you feel alive.

Do you choose to belong to the 80 % or to the 20 %? How does this make you feel?

1 + 1 = 3

When you join with someone else, the result will be more than the sum of the individual parts. Or in the words of Napoleon Hill:

No two minds ever come together without a third invisible force which may be likened to a “third mind.”

This rule is about building relationships and the power of connection. It is about people coming together and sharing ideas and creating something bigger than each of them can do alone. You may have been in a situation where you felt stuck and just kept going in circles, but a quick chat with someone else just opened up a whole new range of solutions and possibilities.

Together we are stronger than alone. When you shift from me to we, it is no longer just about you. You start to widen your horizon, to open up to new ideas and possibilities. You start opening up to giving and receiving support. With somebody by your side, you feel supported and this makes it easier to step in your own power.

Have you ever had a magical experience, a great insight or just exactly what you needed, after connecting with somebody else?

I hope you enjoyed reading about these mathematical magic rules, and feel inspired to play with them and create some magic in your own life.

If you know about another mathematical magic rule, I would love to hear about it!
