Is Your Birth Control Giving You Acne?

Today in “Where the Hell Was this News 10 Years Ago?” Curology polled women on different brands of birth control and created a handy dandy chart to track how each brand affected their acne.

A common misconception is that any and all birth control pills help acne but take a look at the chart, your brand might be doing more harm than good.

Okay Ladies, Now Let’s Get in Formation

Maybe it’s been a while since you’ve really thought about how bad ass the Emirates cabin crew (or any in-flight crew) really is. Watch them completely shut it down at a Los Angeles Dodger game.

Tinder Shows Love to Trans* Community

At last week’s Recode Coding Conference, Tinder CEO Sean Rad announced that the app is getting a lot more inclusive. Rad has been working closely with LGBTQ advisors and activists to gain insight on trans* needs.

“There’s a transgender community on Tinder and we haven’t done enough to give them a good experience.” — Tinder CEO Sean Rad

Tinder has yet to announce what specific changes will be made but in a statement made to Refinery 29, Rad says, “Not only is it the right thing to do for our users, it’s the right thing to do, period.” Fingers crossed that this is done well.

The Pope is Body Positive

At a Mass dedicated to people with disabilities, Pope Francis dropped some gems on body positivity and a culture that overly celebrates “perfection.”

“It is thought that sick or disabled persons cannot be happy, since they cannot live the lifestyle held up by the culture of pleasure and entertainment. In an age when care for one’s body has become an obsession and a big business, anything that is imperfect has to be hidden away, since it threatens the happiness and serenity of the privileged few and endangers the dominant model.”

“The world does not become better because only apparently ‘perfect’ — not to mention ‘made-over’ — people live there, but when solidarity and mutual acceptance and respect increase.”

I kinda wanna say, “Yasss, Pope!” but I’m sure that’s like…wrong in some way.

Gender Neutral Uniforms Picking Up Speed in the UK

80 U.K. schools have reworked their uniform policies, allowing students to wear any part of the uniform wardrobe regardless of their gender. A spokesperson for Stonewall told The Independent,

“We welcome all efforts to support young people on trans and gender identity issues and ensure that they feel happy, welcome and accepted at school, and it’s encouraging to see this move. No trans person should be forced to present in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable. When this happens, it can be deeply damaging, particularly for young people.”

WE NEED MORE OF THIS.
