Who are we?

We are the first market offer that pays customers for shifting consumption to green power and avoiding dirty, polluting electricity with a digital token. The project is created in collaboration with Tempus Energy and Energy Unlocked. These two social enterprises have extensive experience in technology, energy management, policy and regulation. Combining the technology and industry know-how has led to FLEX Token.

Why are we?

When electricity is dirty, it costs the system more. As peak demand increases, the cost of electricity rises. This is a system that has dogged energy users throughout history, and it is only increasing its hold on consumers’ wallets and the planet’s health.

Emerging economies are also adding to this demand, as there are still over 1 billion people who have little or no access to electricity right now. The problem is not going to go away without some form of innovation.

Existing large fossil fuel companies are not going to voluntarily relinquish the advantage that they have. To decarbonize the world, this power needs to move from their hands to those of the customer. FLEX facilitates and incentivises this to happen.

What do we do?

Tempus Energy and Energy Unlocked have the cumulative experience and technology to make change a reality, and that’s why we created the FLEX Network. This network includes experts in the fields of environmental change, technology and blockchain, and we have brought these together to create FLEX.

The Tempus Technology predicts when peak times are about to occur. With this information we automate the use of flexible appliances into low carbon/low price periods. In doing so, the customer receives a token that rewards them for their involvement. It’s win-win for both consumer and the planet.
