My New Home

When I first started writing movie reviews for the web, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from the endeavor. I started a review blog on tumblr called White-Glove Grindhouse, which for two and a half years accumulated a decent number of essays. Still, for all the advantages tumblr provided, I never felt that its format was best suited for longer text pieces, or that it wasabsolute best place to cultivate a community of readers for my work. Besides, I barely ever reviewed grindhouse films, so I’m not sure I really nailed the branding as far as my name went.

I decided a change was in order. What sort of change, you ask? Well, you’re reading it. Welcome to The Flicker. Until further notice, this Medium publication will be the online home of the criticism I write from now on, and I may also add the best of the White-Glove Grindhouse reviews if I’m ever short on content. This is a new experience for me, and I hope you’ll stick around and see what comes next.
