Ghanaian Podcasts

Am I missing some really good Ghanaian podcasts? Kindly let me know at equartey@gmail.com.

1. AccraWeDey (Listen on SoundCloud): AccraWeDey is friends hanging out and talking about pretty much anything and everything — side hustles, music, etc. Episodes run long (some run as long as an hour and a half) and a lot of the banter is in Ghanaian Pidgin English and make heavy reference to people and places in Accra, so this podcast is probably not the most accessible for non-Ghanaians. Follow AccraWeDey on Twitter.

2. After the Whistle (Listen on Stitcher, Pinecast): “Join the After The Whistle team every Monday | 9AM (GMT) to discuss events on and off the field after the game is done.” A sports podcast that’s part of The Gold Coast Report Podcast Network. Follow After the Whistle on Twitter.

3. Decaf (Listen on SoundCloud): “Decaf is church for music geeks. Step in and commune with us. The format is simple: 4 people submit playlists of 10 tracks each, take the tracks home and study them. They pick their favourite 4 songs on each playlist and then meet to duke it out over which ones deserve to make the final cut. Along the way, we argue, antagonize and generally step on each others’ toes. What emerges is the upper echelon of music recommendations: the Decaf Tier 1 list. Enjoy.” Follow the conversation around #DecafPodcast on Twitter.
