Just a Day in the Life of a Jamaican Trader!

History was made by the Jamaican bobsled team approximately 30 years ago. Most people remember the Disney version, “Cool Runnings”. 2014 saw Jamaica once again making history, but this time in fundraising. Dodgecoin, which was a joke cyrptocurrency, saw its day in the sun (at least in Jamaica). Approximately 30 years later and the Jamaica’s woman’s team has recently finished competing in 2018 Winter Olympics. Keeping the Jamaican dream alive for the first Winter Olympic medal is still a Jamaican goal.

Jamaican Stock Exchange (JSE) Proposes Cryptocurrency Trading

4 years later and cyrptocurrency is once again cooling down the hot Jamaican island. History is once again in the making as the JSE is looking at incorporating cryptocurrency into its trading. This would continue the Dogecoin, or at least cyrptocurrency, legacy of this progressive and beautiful island.

Blockstation Collaborating with the JSE

Blockstation is collaborating with the JSE to make this a reality. The 2 signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that will ensure cyrptocurrency will be traded in a secure and regulated manner. This would mean that Jamaican Stock Exchange would be the fist international exchange to trade cyrptocurrencies.

Effect on Cryptocurrency Trading

This announcement is really big news because it would set a precedent that future international stock exchanges could follow. However it is also significant for cryptocurrency trading. Such a move would bolster cyrptocurrency into the mainstream. Thereby boosting mass adoption further.

Summary

Jamaica’s history is certainly bright and sunny and its future is looking as hot. With a partnership between the JSE and Blockstation, Jamaica is all set to have the first international stock market to offer cryptocurrency trading.
