The Fluxus Weekly Digest: January 1–20
Passion
Hi there,
it’s been quite a long time, isn’t it? I shouldn’t have called it “Weekly Digest” because they’ve been at least a couple of weeks since the last digest.
Anyway: new year, new things to do and discover, same driver: passion.
They say we italians are full of passion and I really don’t know if it’s true. I only know that I do have a passion: the one that drives me to draw each day. It’s a commitment but it’s also something much more important: drawing has always given me back much more than I did. I realized that that happens for a very simple reason: each day I put my pencil on the iPad and often I don’t have an idea. I don’t know what will come out later. Sometimes my drawings come from something that I wrote down on the notes app while walking or doing something else, but many times it happens that I don’t know what my daily illustration will be right before. Therefore passion is what leads me to discover new things: things that I already have in my mind and now they’re in plain sight on an piece of electronic paper. Each day I find out something new and that’s the reward for my passion. Achieving something every day is one of the most important ingredients of the receipt of happiness. When I’m lost and purposeless it’s because I don’t really know what to do. When I discover something new I add a meaning to my life. I’m happy.
Why do I draw? Because I want to be happy.
