England will be looking to return to the Euro final after losing to Italy on penalties in 2021. Gareth Southgate for all the criticism he has faced as England is on the doorstep of a second consecutive final at the Euros England hasn't exactly blown everyone out of the water. However, they've managed to battle through the opposition. They have survived through each round of The knockout stages. However, they have shown their mental strength and ability to come back. As unimpressive as perhaps they have been at times they have found a way through. In the round of 16 A faced elimination against Slovakia. England went behind in the opening half hour before relying on late heroics to turn the tide. a bicycle kick by Jude Bellingham in the last possible moment Captain England at the Euros before Harry Kane's header was the difference in extra time as they overcame Slovakia to make the quarterfinals. They ended up in a penalty shootout although England has historically struggled in the shootouts they managed to prevail on penalties setting up a date with the Netherlands even though they have fallen behind in each match of the knockout stages. they have always found the mental strength to come back as they refuse to go down. they have a strong chance to get back to the Back to the fighter. However, The Netherlands will back the chance to do it in their own right. The Netherlands also hasn't had the most glorious tournament thus far. There have been moments of criticism surrounding them. In a group with France, Austria, and Poland they had to settle for a third-place finish. They ended up beating Romania in The round of 16 Even though it was relatively close for most of the match, they ended up pulling away at the end to secure a 3-0 victory with two goals in the last 10 minutes. then in the quarterfinals, they ended up being matched up with Turkey. The Turks scored first off A corner kick. However, the Netherlands stepped up in the last 20 minutes scoring twice to overturn the deficit to find themselves in the semi-final with a huge opportunity to get to a final for the first time since 1988. Neither the Netherlands nor England has looked their best at this tournament. However, they've earned the right to play in the semi-final with the possibility of punching their ticket into the Euro final in Berlin against Spain. the last stage before the final as England and the Netherlands Battle in Dortmund on Wednesday night.

The Netherlands opted for a very aggressive start. England has fallen behind in every stage of The knockout rounds thus far. unfortunately, whether they like it or not it is going to happen again. In the 7th minute, Xavi Simons gets a massive opportunity for the Dutch. Xavi Simons collects the ball from the right side of the box from distance as he unloads a perfect strike sending a bullet into the bottom right corner as the Netherlands have a perfect start taking a 1-0 lead. The Netherlands wasted no time getting through to England and putting themselves in a perfect spot to start the semi-final. However, not long after they would be provided with a way back in. In an obscure situation In the 13th, Harry Kane strikes from close range. the attempt ends up being saved by Bart Verbruggen. However, they would check for a potential penalty. Harry Kane would drop to the ground after connecting with the ball. Denzel Dumfires extends his foot trying to get in the way Of Harry Kane's attempt. the Inter Milan fullback does make a connection with the boot of Harry Kane. however, although it ended up looking reckless. Denzel Dumfires innocently tried to get in the way of the strike. He ends up putting his foot forward. his studs happened to be up however he was purely just trying to get in the way of it. However, that being said, the referee oddly decided to give a penalty. this situation would hardly ever be given a penalty in any situation. although he catches Kane, his attention is on playing the ball and he does make contact with the ball. A decision of absolute obscurity but England is gifted with the opportunity to get themselves back in it. in the 14th minute. Harry Kane steps up and he sends it into the bottom corner as England equalized. They didn't deserve it based on the decision that was made but they get a lifeline as they get to start from scratch after seeing the Dutch out in front so soon. However, ever since the penalty England has looked incredibly sharp. In the 23rd minute, they nearly took the lead after Phil Foden burst forward almost extending the lead. he takes a strike that nearly crosses the line. Denzel Dumfires makes a brilliant touch that kept the ball on the line preventing England from going in front. He made the mistake on the penalty and now just bailed out the Dutch from potentially going behind. At the half-hour mark Denzel Dumfires on a corner tech makes a run into the box Xavi Simons sends a delivery coming off the corner. Denzel Dumfires header hits off the post as the Netherlands very well could have taken the lead. It has been very evenly matched thus far. They exchanged blows left right and center. 2 minutes after England hit the post this time. Phil Foden takes a strike from the left side as it clashes against the bar. In a matter of 5 minutes, both the Netherlands and England have hit the bar and the tension between them in this semi-final only continues to heat up. England had a pair of chances at the end of the first half Kobbie Mainoo showed another dazzling performance from Midfield. he dumped it off for Phil Foden as he strikes from a distance. Bart Verbruggen able to manage the situation well. making the save. In the 41st minute Kobbie Mainoo looks to hit from outside the box but unfortunately takes a deflection on the end. This would end the first half with the Netherlands and England having a goal a piece.

Although England ended up with a lucky break with the penalty. This is the best England have looked at this tournament. Hit the post once nearly score on the line and then convert the penalty. The penalty was a very fortunate thing for England. however, they battled back from adversities very quickly, so shortly after Xavi Simons had a perfect start for the Dutch. That being said, this still is open for business for either side to punch their ticket into the semifinal. However, in the second half, it became very much a possession battle. not a lot of chances coming left right and center on both sides trying not to make a mistake to provide an opportunity for the opposition. In the 65th minute coming off a free kick, Joey Veerman sends it into the box Virgil Van Dijk Mrs. to the left of the header. Then off the corner a minute later Joey Veerman sends a ball into the box again. this time it was the head of Denzel Dumfires As he puts it wide. although collectively England was playing very well and handling the moment better than most of the matches they’ve played at this tournament. The Dutch seemed to be amping it up. In the 77th minute, Wout Weghorst tries to capitalize through the air as his header gets on the end of a cross delivered in by Cody Gakpo however, it was eventually deflected away by England. Xavi Simons repossesses it from close range as he takes a well-timed effort at Jordan Pickford. However, the Everton goalkeeper manages to come up with the save. In the late stages of the match, it looked like if anybody was going to capitalize it was going to be the Netherlands. however, England in the 90th minute had other ideas with a possibility of burying this before extra time. Cole Palmer supplies an excellent ball to Ollie Watkins. The Aston Villa Striker that had just been subbed on for Harry Kane follows through burying it into the bottom left corner heartbreak for the Dutch. as England delivered in the closing moments to send themselves into a second consecutive final. The Dutch had played well. basically, the entire 90 minutes as the strike from Ollie Watkins sends home the Netherlands. England prevailed in Dortmund with a 2-1 victory to return to the Euro final. they will play Spain in Berlin.

England will be provided with an opportunity for redemption. In the 2021 Euro final they took the lead inside of 3 minutes at home against Italy at Wembley. despite taking the early lead, they sat back and eventually, England was broken down by Bonucci As Italy got themselves back into it. Italy dominated pretty much the rest of the match even before their goal. England just sat back. trying not to concede. meanwhile, it was pushed into penalties and Italy came up with it. England were heartbroken at home as Italy 1 Euro 2021. England then made the World Cup semifinal in 2022 after France sent them home with a missed penalty by Harry Kane being one of the reasons. Now England will be given a path to redemption. England overall has played poorly in every match they have played at this tournament. they've always found a way to win in the end and overcome adversity. however, on Wednesday night it was their best performance of the Euros and even though they could have been inches from elimination, they battled through and the substitute of Ollie Watkins completely delivered for Southgate as he silenced some of the critics. the Dutch will feel a bit hard done by. They had the best chances in the second half. for the most part. They took the lead inside 10 minutes and England got themselves back in the game because of a penalty that never should have been called. they will feel in a certain way frustrated by the circumstances that led to their elimination. an excellent goal by Ollie Watkins is the one that does it to them. however, the controversial penalty certainly plays a role in their elimination. The Netherlands had done so well in this tournament despite not playing their best in the early parts of it to make a semi-final in a tournament, no one expected them to is incredibly impressive. however, in the end, they will feel the frustration as they are eliminated in Dortmund on Wednesday. England will have another crack at a major trophy. We have heard the song. it's coming home for far too long. it's never come home since 1966. However, the song itself did not even start until the '90s. Since that has been a thing, England has only gotten close. maybe one other time. They are back to the final. however, Spain will be a mammoth proposition to deal with. Spain from the start of the tournament to the end has been the best team at the Euros. it has not been all that close in that regard. England will have their work cut out for them. dealing with the attacking pieces of Nico Williams and newly 17-year-old Yamel coming off his first goal at a major tournament, the youngest to ever score at the Euros. They are an undeniable Midfield of Dani Olmo, Rodri, and Fabian Ruiz Not to mention there's a strong defense and excellent goalkeeper Simon. England will have to be close to perfect to be able to replicate this performance against Spain. England has fallen behind in all three of their matches, leading up to the final. if they have any chance to beat Spain, they cannot allow the Spaniards to score first. If Spain scores first, the match is effectively over. Spain are looking for their fourth major trophy since 2008. meanwhile, England are trying to bring it home. England does have a chance because anything can happen in a one-off final. However, Spain has just been very good at this tournament as I expect them to win the final. Southgate will have a big call to make dropping. Harry Kane could be a possibility. however, if he does this and they lose, he's going to look like the biggest donkey in the world. on the other hand, starting him may not work either. should start along with Harry Kane. England is incredibly talented ever taking out Spain will be a bigger proposition in a huge challenge. It will take everything they have to be victorious in Berlin on Sunday. However, England has given themselves a Fighting Chance as they return to the final after a 90th-minute winner on Wednesday night. from Ali Watkins sees England overcome a 2-1 victory against the Netherlands.
