Waldstadion, Frankfurt

The European championships continue here in Germany as we progress with match day two of the group stage. We are in Frankfurt at the Waldstadion For a group C match between England and Denmark. England from the very beginning of the tournament have been tagged as one of the favorites. despite being very talented, it is unclear why that is the case. However, England got the necessary result in their opening group match against Serbia. Jude Bellingham connected on a header early on that gave them the lead. after that it was a pretty disastrous performance as England underwhelmed against the Serbians. Serbia had a number of chances to break through and equalize but the moment never arrived for them. England sit at top of the group with three points despite a really bad performance in their opening match. meanwhile, Denmark played out a 1-1 draw with Slovenia in Stuttgart. Christian Erickson gave them a lead as he scores in his first match at the Euros since his cardiac arrest 3 years ago. However, they couldn't hold it as Slovenia in the second half battle back and find an equalizer. they even came close to possibly taking the lead as they were knocking on the door the last 10 minutes. Denmark will be slightly disappointed with their inability to take maximum points. In Frankfort on Thursday afternoon England will try to right their wrongs from their previous performance against a Denmark side that with the result could take a huge step towards the possibility of making the knockout stage. yet again. as we get underway to see a group C Battle between Denmark and England.

In the first minute Christian Erickson plays in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from close range but denied by Jordan Pickford. a get out of jail card as it could have been really bad if Denmark capitalized this early. England tried to maintain a level of momentum to get themselves back in a comfortable position. even after the fact. Denmark was putting some real pressure on England. In the 13th minute. Phil Foden picks up a ball delivered to him by Kyle Walker from inside the box whales on it as his strike comes nowhere nearby. Phil Foden was a no-show against Serbia and again was gifted with the start. as the Manchester City product has got off to a bad start in the second consecutive game. However, despite Denmark's optimism, England would get themselves in a dangerous position in the 17th minute. Kyle Walker shows his athleticism as he drives the ball from the right wing into the box. Harry Kane gets on the end of it as the Bayern Munich Striker sends the ball into the bottom corner as England takes a 1-0 lead. ironically, this is exactly how it started In their last match against Serbia yet. England needed a bigger reaction this time. It just ended up swaying back into Denmark's & slightly immediately after the goal Denmark amped it up and instead of having to deal with England's superiority they start fighting back. looking to cause some vulnerability from England. In the 25th minute Joachim Andersen sends a ball into the box for Jonas Wind. The Wolfsburg Striker gets on the end of it, but it is saved by Jordan Pickford. A moment later, Christian Eriksen looks to strike from the side of the box, but his touch is deflected off of the Denmark defense. England started to evaporate as Denmark continued to pile on England in the 32nd minute. Jonas Wind again making his presence felt looking for a touch from the left side but once again the England defense get underneath it. After scoring the goal, England completely backed off and a let Denmark push the point right at England. England eventually would pay dearly for this. In the 34th minute Morten Hjulmand is given far too much space as he hits a vicious low strike into the bottom left corner. It takes a slight touch on the left post before rolling into the back of the net as Denmark get rewarded for their aggressive play as England dig their own grave mishandling the approach allowing Denmark to get back in the game in what was a terrific strike. The Sporting Lisbon midfielder recently won the league in Portugal this past season prior to the European championships. Manchester United was looking at him where they decided against the move after doing that perhaps they will be reconsidering. It was a beautifully hit strike in a well-deserved equalizer. In the 38th minute Morten Hjulmand tries to land it a second time this time his long-range effort runs into the defense. In the 42nd minute. Trent Alexander Arnold gets the ball to Phil Foden in the box before being immediately denied by Casper Schmeichel. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg In the 45th minute sends a late strike from outside the box, but Jordan Pickford makes the save ending the first half with Denmark and England all knotted up.

Denmark has executed their game plan to Perfection. Even after going a go behind early on they battle back and have put pressure on England the entire time. Meanwhile, England seems as if they have not learned their lesson from the opening match. as they've just repeated the exact same mistake to a t. outside of Kyle Walker and Harry Kane England have been extremely poor. England can't even locate Jude Bellingham such a forgetful first half performance that it's unclear if he's even there. England need a an immediate reaction and response to a horrendous first half. In the 51st minute, Rice kicks off the second half with a deep strike from distance Casper Schmeichel isn't faced. making the save. 2 minutes later Saka cuts inside as he picks out a strike intended for the corner but mismanages the touch completely. In the 56th minute Phil Foden goes from deep this effort, however, hits the post as it is very well taken by Phil. England have had a somewhat optimistic start to the second half being the more aggressive side. The chances continue to come for England in the 59th minute Harry Kane frees up Saka with a wild attempt on goal from the Arsenal star goes nowhere near. Denmark have defended very well and have kept England from capitalizing on it. it was a really strong approach at the start of the second half for England, but eventually Denmark would pull their punches as well. In the 62nd minute Mikkel Damsgaard Hits it from distance forcing Jordan Pickford into a complex save. England would come back with another big chance in the 71st minute as Aston villas. Ollie Watkins puts his foot through A Jude bailing him through ball Kasper Schmeichel however falls on it. Denmark fired right back in the '73rd minute as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg strikes from distance Jordan Pickford coming up big again. He hit him again in the 77th amendment from a little further to the left side but is a deep strike. Jordan has to stretch on this one but he does get a touch. England's time was running out to get an winner. and the 84th minute. Andreas Christensen on a corner delivered in from Andreas Skov Olsen The Barcelona center back gets a touch but it glides wide. Denmark would get one more corner but can't capitalize as the whistle goes for full-time Denmark and England leave with a point a piece in Frankfurt as disaster hits England's camp with another underwhelming performance England and Denmark both close in on qualifying for The knockout stages along with Slovenia.

England supposedly have one of the strongest teams at the European championships. through their first two games. it certainly does not look like it. They have taken four points from a possible six points. However, they have looked uninspiring and without a plan they're upper Creek without a paddle. It looks as if there are serious concerns with England. We all know in all likelihood, they will get into the knockout rounds, whether it's as the winner of the group or as runners up. however, it's not a foregone conclusion and England should not be overly satisfied with the way everything has happened so far at this tournament. Despite capable of getting a result against Slovenia, they will have to meet up with Benjamin Sesko one of the most dangerous young strikers in Europe. They should get the result they need, however, it's not a guarantee that they will. Gareth Southgate continues to make the same mistakes again. Just like in the first game they take a lead early. They sit back and let their opponents hit at them. However, unlike Serbia in this case Morten Hjulmand Hits a dagger from distance. and going to start the second half well but can't hit back and find another goal. Southgate continued to play Trent Alexander Arnold in Midfield despite it being a horrific failure in the first match. Saki was poor Phil foden was unimpressive again. in fact, it would be hard to point to one player on England that was impressive outside of Kyle Walker and Harry Kane. Jordan Pickford came up with the saves he needed to conserve the lead. it was a poor performance all around as they walked into the same traps that they did in their first match against Serbia. poor substitutions bringing on Connor Gallagher instead of Kobbie Mainoo seemed strange and his overall team selection and tactics was nothing to marvel at. It was another really poor performance. Jude Bellingham had a no-show. he was probably the worst player on the pitch. He is their Golden Boy he is their Superstar. The Real Madrid midfielder had a tremendous season, won the Champions League and so on and so forth. He's a fantastic footballer, but when he plays poorly, the media seems to ignore it and pretend the criticism isn't there. When you are the vocal point of your national team, When England plays well. he gets all the credit but somehow when he doesn't show up and England doesn't get a result he doesn't get the blame. Jude is wonderful player but watching things from the outside, it exemplified why there's a big difference between Jamal Musiala and Wirtz There's a bit of a gap between those two and Jude Bellingham. Jude Bellingham In his last season with Dortmund was was poor for the first 12 matches of the season. Never gets brought up never gets mention. Jamal Musiala and Wirtz Don't always dominate they're not always the best player on the pitch. however, we rarely see them play this poorly. Both of them were phenomenal in Germany's first match against Scotland against Hungary. Jamal played super well and Wirtz contributed even though it wasn't his best outing. I've watched those two boys for years. I very rarely seen him be as poor as Jude was tonight. The other two aren't better than him because of this one game and this one performance. however, Jude Bellingham is going to lose a battle with both of them. if he continues to play poorly at the European championships. He's their best player and he needs to drag England through moments like these. Whether we like it or not, they're going to be judged against one another at the end of this tournament. Jude Bellingham will need to be spectacular in the next round. England must find a way to get into the knockout rounds, but based on how things are going it does look like regardless of what happens. They are probably out in the round of 16. For Denmark, it was a well-earned point and are positioned very well to get into the knockout stage. A victory against Serbia would take them into the next round. undoubtedly. It has been a complete 360 to what we saw at the World Cup from them. They played well. They battled England and for large portions of the game. They actually pushed them around making it kind of all to play for in group C. England and Denmark split points in Frankfort on this occasion.
