On a Sunny afternoon On Sunday, we would see action from Serie A. It would be 16th place Parma against 5th place Lazio. We would be in Parma, a city in the Emilia-Romagna region. A city known for food and wine Much like many spots in Italy. In addition to that, this city is known for its art, music, and Opera. Parma has many historic sights, including an 11th-century cathedral and a 12th-century building that's considered one of the most important in medieval Europe. Parma is also known as the city of music and opera and is home to the Teatro Regio, which has been a favorite of opera lovers since the days of Verdi. The city's greatest attraction is The Masone Labyrinth This bamboo maze is located near Fontanellato, in the province of Parma. It's made up of more than 200,000 bamboo plants, including some that are 15 meters tall. A City of many things to offer famous churches Rich Museum and the good old young nightlife. This afternoon we will be at the Stadio Tardini. Parma has had an up-and-down season with wild inconsistencies. Parma started the season incredibly well earning a point at Fiorentina and beating AC Milan at home. They even nearly took points off Napoli. The collapse in Napoli seemed to have affected the season ever since. They currently sit near the bottom part of the table and are not that many points clear of relegation. They have rested their laurels on Romanian Winger Dennis Man As he has scored In both of the games in question. They certainly seem to have a Stern test at their disposal. Parma only have one victory in their last five matches. Their victory against Venezia 2 weeks ago was only their first win out of their last 11. Another victory and possible upset against Lazio could go a long way getting their season back on track after several results that ended up not going their way. Meanwhile, Lazio is having an uprise this season. Under Marco Baroni, somehow they find themselves within distance of the top of the table. The former Verona manager who won only 25% of his matches at Verona and only 32% at Lecce seems to be underqualified for Lazio. However, he has taken them to the brink of something special this season. They have seven straight wins in all competitions. They are right up there with the very top teams in Italy at the moment and on top of that is currently near the top of the table in the Europa League as well. They may have found an answer to Immobile No longer at Lazio with Castellanos As he has been key this campaign. Along with help from well-established Zaccagni. Coming into Parma will not be an easy task. As Parma host Lazio at the stadio Tardini.
As expected, Lazio came out swinging looking to establish themselves As a real threat to Parma. Parma needs points and Lazio needs to prove their validity. Unfortunately, it would come back to bite them. In the 6th minute, Lazio make a poor pass out of the back. As Lazio makes the pass Dennis Man presses the center back. Parma has been at the races this evening. Ever since the disallowed goal, they have been showing their attacking play, putting a lot of angst and pressure on Lazio. On the flip side of it, Lazio has shown they still have The firepower to get back into this match and ultimately still keep their winning streak intact. That being said, Zion Suzuki has been at his very best thus far and seemed as if he will be difficult to break down. In the 50th minute, Dennis Man leads the counteract tank as he bursts forward releasing Matteo Cancellieri to the left side of him. In the 52nd minute, Mario Gila sent a ball into the box Alessio Romagnoli's header smashed directly at Zion Suzuki another insane save from the Japanese goalkeeper. Lazio gets two corners in a row. On the first one, Mario Gila Misses the mark then Valentin Castellanos Does the same. Unfortunately for Lazio in the 53rd minute Gabriel Charpentier leads the break Parma has the ball in and around the attacking area. He delivers a pass as it glides across the pitch Anas Haj Mohamed hence it on the first touch as cleanly as a ball can get hit as he launches it from way outside the box into the top right corner as Parma has increased the lead now holding a 2-0 lead. One of the best strikes we will see this weekend. The Tunisian 19-year-old scores his first goal in Italian football with an outstanding hit. A few minutes later In the 56th minute, Dennis Man looked like he was going to double up. A ball is played into him from outside. He takes a good touch from inside the box right in front of goal. Fortunately, the Lazio fullback closed down on it, and what very easily could have been another goal for the Romanian talent. In the 59th minute Dennis Man puts a ball in very good space Gabriel Charpentier Just puts his foot through it but far too much power put onto it. Lazio in the 61st minute tried to facilitate something for Valentín Castellanos From inside the box his strike on goal was blocked by the Parma defense. Parma continues to find ways to be effective both defensively and on the attacking side of things. In the 63rd minute, Simon Sohm tries to test his range from distance, but the Swiss defensive mid can't quite put away the finish despite a decent effort. In the 65th minute, Lazio gets themselves a free kick from outside the area Valentín Castellanos plays it in for substitute Loum Tchaouna He glides his foot on the end of it as it pops over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Pedro delivers a through ball Loum Tchaouna ends up with the ball at his feet in a difficult angle. Luca Pellegrini strikes at the goalkeeper it ends up deflecting and landing in the space of Valentin Castellanos As he taps it into the corner. They finally get one pass the Zion Suzuki who has been a menace thus far. 5 minutes later in the 85th minute, Luca Pellegrini drives the ball into the area Loum Tchaouna gets on the end of it again As it flies over. In the 88th minute. Pedro hits an effort from distance as it runs into the Parma defense. Then in the 89th minute, Mattéo Guendouzi drags one from the left side of the box ending up colliding with another Parma defender. In the 91st minute as Lazio was pushing everyone forward, Parma delivered them the kiss of death. Gabriel Charpentier On the counter-attack pushes the ball forward Enrico Del Prato chases it down in the box ending up with a one-on-one as he calmly and poisly slides it into the bottom right corner as Parma pull off a 3-1 victory at the tardini as they pull the upset over Lazio.
Lazio before Sunday Afternoon, they had ripped off seven consecutive victories. They were one of the hottest teams in all of Europe. They have dealt with practically everyone that has been put in their way. However, it turned out to be a very unfortunate trip to the tardini. They score inside the first 2 minutes only for Rovella to get one of the goals of the Season wiped away. They make a mistake. Dennis Mann immediately hops on it. Then Parma eventually breaks away in the second half before killing it in the end. Lazio for large parts played fairly well. They just could not get it past Zion Suzuki as he had his best performance in Serie A since his move Urawa Red Diamonds After spending last season in Belgium on loan. He turned into the number one at Parma and has been very impressive in most of his performances. However, this probably was his very finest moment. Before they got the second goal, he had to make a double save a jaw-dropping touch that denied Lazio fairly early in the second half. At home, they take down one of the stronger sides in Italy this season. Lazio still only sits four Points outside of first place. This one-off performance shouldn't greatly affect their position. On the other side of things. Parma seems to need this a bit more. The three points they have taken have catapulted them into 11th. It wasn't just Zion Suzuki. The overall attacking play from Parma was outstanding. After the goal was disallowed they got themselves a lifeline and took advantage of it. Dennis Mann scoring in another big game all the pieces stepped up in a big way as we have seen many talented young players come through this parma side this season Tunisia's 19-year-old Anas Haj Mohamed bagging his first goal in Italian football. Zion Suzuki's performances in goal and overall maximize themselves against a very strong Lazio side at home. They'll have a little bit more breathing space in regards to the lower half of the table. Parma handled the business at home with a very exhilarating 3-1 victory over Lazio.
