A.S Roma 0 Juvnetus 0FT

Allianz Stadium, Turin

Roma has had a disastrous start to the season As de Rossi faces a huge test before the international break. Roma fell on their face flat in a 2-1 loss to Empoli leaving them with just one point out of a possible six through the first two matches. The defensive incapability and insignificant Midfield played A big part in it. Roma addressed these issues immediately in the closing hours of the transfer window. They have brought in Manu Kone, Alexis Salaemakers & Hermoso As Roma hopes that the new additions can help turn their season back on the right track. On Sunday night Roma would travel to Turin to take on unbeaten Juventus and what will be a very testy affair has Roma have a very formidable challenge challenge in front of them. They don't want to go into the break with just one point losing this evening would cause them to sit in the relegation zone, even if it is temporary. However, Juventus has looked extremely sound in the first two matches under Thiago Motta. Roma and Juventus exchanged a goalless draw in their last meeting at the back half of last season. however, that was played in Rome. Roma's run of form in Turin isn't the best. however, Roma is looking to change that this evening with a big result to hopefully send them into the International break with High spirits with three consecutive winnable matches around the corner. it may not be Italy's traditional rivalries. However, this is a huge clash, especially with some reunions with Mattais Soule & Dybala To try to pull a fast one over their former side. it's Roma. it's Juventus as they are set to battle it out on Sunday night in Turin.

Roma made some interesting lineup choices ahead of kickoff. De Rossi brought Alexis Salaemakers into the lineup immediately as Dybala started on the bench. Meanwhile, in central Midfield 19-year-old Roma Talent Niccolo Pisilli Is thrown into the fire in a big test like this one rest remain the same as Roma will attempt to inflict some damage against a red-hot Juventus. It came across as a very evenly matched clash from the very beginning. A decent exchange, and a ball possession as neither side appeared in many ways as Superior. Roma started very strong pushing the ball into those attacking areas This was going to be somewhat of a chess match. Juventus however, did attempt to draw first blood. In the 7th minute, Juventus won an early corner. It is delivered into the box by Kelvin Yidez As his cross finds Juan Cabal His header ends up drifting wide as the pressure is relieved from Roma on an early set piece. Unlike the performance last weekend, Roma looked very competent defensively As they trapped Juventus with their attacking play closing the gaps in space that the hosts attempted to exploit. In the 10th minute, Dusan Vlahovic unloaded a powerful effort from outside the box as Juventus took a couple of early swipes at Roma. However, defensively, they managed to deal with the circumstances accordingly as the Serbian's effort ran into the aroma defense. Much more organized than a week prior. Roma would get things going a minute later. In the 11th minute, Gianluca Mancini pushes It Forward as Roma plays a high line as they broach the Juventus box. he dumps the ball off to his center-back partner Evan Ndicka He collects it before firing through on goal taking a deflection. Roma slowly started to pick up momentum as they were operating effectively through a positive stretch for the visitors. This sequence is the best. Roma has looked this season. A couple of minutes later in the 13th minute, they played it through Midfield Crisante coming off a bad performance last week. looks to rectify it as he moves it forward before releasing Lorenzo Pellegrini in a dangerous position. The Roma Captain puts it on his left foot as he cuts into the box before unloading a powerful effort that takes a slight deflection in the end. Both teams seem to be trapping the areas As neither has gotten a clean look on goal. however, perhaps that was the best chance of the evening this far. A moment later new loan signing Alexis Saelemaekers got his first couple of pumps as he used his athleticism to separate firing a well-taken strike from distance Di Gregorio came up with the save denying Roma from distance. The Romans grow in confidence as they're riding a wave of momentum as they slowly open up the attacking tools against a tough Juventus back line. In the 20th minute Niccolò Pisilli looking to make some early contributions as he supplied a pass for his Argentine compatriot Mattais Soule He caught it to the left and then the right As he drove an effort over the goal but Roma continued to put that bit of pressure on Juventus between the two sides, Roma seem to be the ones pushing it now. It has been quite a battle thus far. there has been a low volume of chances but a lot of happening between the two sides. Roma appears to be the better of the sides to this point. however, Juventus has the quality to make a huge dent practically at all times with some special individual Jewels through the side. In the late stages of the first half in the 42nd minute, Dusan Vlahovic takes an excellent blow piercing his foot against the ball following a cross from the right flank however Mile Svillar gets to the ball quickly making a fingertip save. In the 45th minute Niccolò Pisilli drops it in the inside of the box for Artem Dovbyk As he strikes from close range, a good look at it but unfortunately another deflection. The first half comes to a close without a goal occurring from either.

Roma certainly have to like what they put together in that first 45 minutes. There haven't been a lot of chances, but they look much improved. particularly defensively and the Midfield hasn't made too many considerable errors. away from home. it is going to be difficult to get a really good result. However, if Roma can take something from this, it certainly is a positive result to take them into the break. They are a little slow with the movement and don't quite get it across as effectively. However, some real chances from both sides. Juventus themselves playing well handling the game. defending one of two chances happening for them as this continues to be somewhat of a chess match. Juventus take an aggressive start at the start of the second half. New signing Teun Koopmeiners getting involved immediately in the 49th minute dropped the ball to the Serbian Dusan Vlahovic to unload from the side of the box as he slid it over the corner. not able to intimidate or threaten his countryman as Mile Svillar unbothered by it. The openness to a degree in the first half completely died down. It was becoming a very tactical intuition. Roma, however, has made things extraordinarily difficult for Juventus. throughout the second half, they had the ball camped in their area, and even though Roma didn't move it with great fluidity. they are the ones really kind of making a bit of discomfort on the opposition. defensively they have been very organized and outstanding Evan Ndicka In particular has been very strong making it difficult on The heavy hitters from the hosts. However, no real chances outside of the one at the very start of the second half. Roma would make some changes in the 62nd minute Paulo Dybala replaces Mattias Soule & Nicola Zalewski replaces Alexis Saelemaekers with less than 25 minutes to go, Juventus slowly started to show their quality. In the 70th minute Nicolò Savona delivers an excellent ball inside Francisco Conceição Is in an extremely dangerous position. He winds up looking for a breakthrough out of nowhere Evan Ndicka winds up getting in the way of it as he has been all over the place this evening causing a bit of frustration for Juventus based on the expression from their manager. A moment later Kenan Yildiz does the same but again the aroma defense is somewhat of a problem. Manu Koné Would be thrown on to make his Roma debut replacing Niccolò Pisilli. Another set piece sent into the box in the 73rd minute by Juventus. Bremer uses his physical trace to his advantage getting his head on the end of the header but unable to stick it. Roma makes two changes inside of 10 minutes Tommaso Baldanzi comes in for Lorenzo Pellegrini then Shomurdov relieves Artem Dovbyk. In the 87th minute, Roma looking for a lasting moment. Dybala makes a run as he cuts inside. He then puts it on his other foot from close range right in front of goal but his face is a deflection as it has been a performance of defensive strength. In the 90th minute Roma had one last chance to sink it Angeliño's fed the ball on the attack in a great counter-attacking scenario. He's fed the ball to the left. he strikes it trying to lift it towards the corner but mishandles the moment. Juventus come back with Kelvin Yidez But the Turkish talent can't hit it either. the full-time whistle goes it is a goalless draw in Turin as Roma delivers a decent result ahead of the international break.

Roma's performance last weekend was beyond dreadful. It was so horrific that many of us were lost for words completely. I won't go as far as to say that this is a polar opposite performance. However, this is the first time this season that Roma started to show their capabilities. The issues from last week have not only been addressed in the transfer market but on the pitch, we saw better contributions from those areas. defensively both teams were excellent but to a further degree. Roma was outstanding. Despite Juventus's big attacking threats, Roma handled them without too much hesitation. Mile Svillar wasn't asked to do much as the back line put together a much better display in front of him. As a unit, they move the ball well. they didn't make mistakes. they dealt with the firepower thrown at them and on top of that kept their concentration and were much more organized. Evan Ndicka was unbelievable. He was given the man of the match as he was everywhere. As I touched a couple of times throughout this match, he was the biggest factor in stopping the big stars. Mancini also did his part collectively. they looked strong. However, the Ivory Coast center-back was excellent showing his qualities. He was one of the few good performers last weekend and he built it up with another stunning display. Cristante in Midfield was much better. He didn't put forth bad passes and was accurate with his touches. He also was very smart with his movement. The Midfield was much better. Lorenzo Pellegrini with another very strong performance Alexis Salaemakers did well in his debut starting immediately. Soule continues to show his qualities again. All in all everyone did their role. Now two points from a possible nine isn't something that Roma wants to see. However, they come into the international break with a good performance in a very, very difficult place to play and manage to handle it with Grace. going to Juventus and leaving with any points is strong. They had won their opening. two matches Thiago Malta even was very complimentary of the way de Rossi Roma's side played this evening There are a few issues that need to be worked on. There is room for improvement, particularly in movement with the ball. They still aren't getting the ball in the attacking areas often enough. something that they certainly will have to address over the next few weeks. however, winnable fixtures sit in front of them. This was an encouraging performance as Roma will look to put them back on track after the international break. Juventus looks strong as well and showed their qualities in their ways. but ultimately, in the end, a point spared is a fair result as Roma and Juventus play out a goalless draw at the Allianz Stadium.
