Juventus 3 A.S Roma 1FT

The Roma ladies this past weekend continue to close out the playoff round prior to the Copa Italia final at the end of the season. They are coming off to absolute thrillers. As they beat Sassuolo in a 11 goal thriller 6–5 then beat inter Milan last weekend 4–3 as they have conceded eight and scored 10 goals over their last two matches. They are currently holding a 17-game unbeaten run and have not lost in the league since December 20th. They already have the title in their possession and just need to finish out these past two games before the Copa Italia final around the corner. They would be on the road as they would prepare to face Juventus for the fifth time this season. Roma has beaten a Juventus three of their last four meeting this season. Juventus over the last couple seasons has been the boogeyman for aroma. However, this season they finally learned how to beat them while accruing the proper personnel to do this. However, perhaps is a little less riding on this one. Considering the title is already theirs. They come into this one 14 points behind Roma as they have not really pushed the leaders at all this season. However, with Roma not having a lot at stake, perhaps this is the best chance for Juventus to get a victory against the Champions to end The season. Roma and Juventus battle for the fifth time this time in Turin as kickoff approaches on a Sunday afternoon.

Roma as usual, had more of the possession in the early parts of the match. They also posed themselves as threats. Trying to put that extra pressure on Juventus. However, it turns out that those slight advantages didn’t matter whatsoever. Juventus got themselves into a dangerous position inside of 10 minutes They weren’t going to miss their chance to take the lead. In the 6th minute Sofia Cantore makes a run on the break picking up the ball from just inside the box before sending it into the top corner to give Juventus a 1-0 lead. Juventus continually looked strong and had some really strong opportunities after the fact to put Roma in an uncomfortable position even further. In the 20th minute Julie Grosso after appearing to commit a foul drives the ball forward before dumping it off to Sofia Cantore She unloads a strike from distance but hits it just a bit wide of the target. They kept the momentum and pressure in their favor. Roma was playing well but it did appear that Juventus had the momentum. In the 32nd minute. Julie Grosso notices Camellia Caesar slightly off her line before going for the spectacular from distance. It ends up hitting the bar as she was mere inches away from giving Juventus another goal. Juventus put themselves in dangerous positions and it was working for the most part. Roma had chances here and there but didn’t seem to be executing on their opportunities. The first half came to a close with Juventus holding a narrow 1-0 lead.

Juventus without question. The better side in the first half. However, Roma are exponentially dangerous They just need a slight moment sometimes that is all it takes. Very early in the second half in the 149th minute Haavi delivers a ball into the box coming from the right side. Evelyn Viens collects it with multiple bodies around her but it doesn’t matter as she picks out the bottom corner past the goalkeeper to get them the equalizer. The Canadian is having a formidable first season in the Italian Top flight. That was her 15th goal of the season as she levels with both Valentina Giacinti and Manuela Giuliano as Roma’s trio has now accounted for 62 goal contributions. The reason Roma has won the title again has partly been because of the attacking play of this side. In the 49th minute Julie Grosso takes the ball on the left side. She dumps it off to Barbara Bonansea and she makes a cheeky move in the box separating herself slightly dumping it towards Sofia Cantore She fires an effort on goal but is saved by Camellia Caesar. Juventus kept pushing for another goal in the 54th minute Sofia Cantore Burst forward in a solo run with her being tightly covered she unleashes A terrific effort from distance as she goes for the curler Camellia Caesar makes a terrific save but pushes the ball back outside Barbara Bonansea strikes the follow-up before being deflected off the Roma defense. In the 56th minute, Roma nearly take the lead. Giada Greggi has the ball from well outside the box She drops it into space for Evelyn Viens The Canadian strikes it out of the air on the cross but hits the bottom post as it is cleared out by Juventus. Very nearly a goal for the visitors. In the '62 minute we would see a moment of absolute brilliance from Juventus. Sofia Cantore gets on the break leaving Roma shirts in the dust. She goes on a solo run just as she approaches the box. She loops it over Camellia Caesar into the back of the net as Juventus take a 2-1 lead. In the 84th minute Camellia Caesar pulls off a save of the Season contender. Juventus drive the ball down the left side a cross is sent in Lineth Beerensteyn manages to get on the end of it. It’s heading for the top right corner, but the Romanian keeper extends pushing the ball out of the danger before landing on it. In the 84th minute Camellia Caesar makes a absolutely sensational save. Probably the best we’ve seen this season. In the 96th minute, the final seconds of the contest Juventus make it three Jennifer Echegini takes a strike from just inside the box into the top corner to make it 3-1 Juventus The biggest result of juventus’s season. They’ve lost the title again to Roma but at least they get a victory off of them ending a 17-game unbeaten run by the Champions. Roma goes down in Turin with their eyes now, fully focused on the Copa Italia final.

Roma has mastered the art of beating Juventus this season. On this occasion, Juventus deservingly get all three points. Minimizing the deficit Roma hold at the top of the table to 11 points. Roma collectively aren’t going to lose a ton of sleep over the result. They are already the Champions. Not to mention for the second consecutive season. They have a Copa Italia final against fiorentina on the 24th. Then they play Fiorentina next weekend. In what will be another dress rehearsal for the final. This one clearly meant more for Juventus than it did for Roma. Juventus deserve credit for the way they handled the moment and again a victory against the Champions. Putting to rest a 17 match unbeaten run. Roma played decently well however perhaps not at their best. It’s certainly annoying to lose. However, for Roma there’s more at work than just this result. They’re focused primarily is the final match of the playoffs and the final on the 24th. I wouldn’t say Roma will be super discouraged by the performance, but perhaps they wanted to see themselves be a bit sharper even if they lose the match. Roma Will lift the title at home against fiorentina next weekend. Then on top of that they will play the very same side in the Copa Italia final a week later. It is always tough to lose, especially from a team that rarely does. On top of that against a rival and the only threat to their throne. However, this season they have won three out of five matches against them. Three out of four in the league. Despite the result, they have clearly separated themselves. You never want to lose but they have bigger fish to fry. The eyes being fully on next weekend against Fiorentina and then again in the coba Italia final as they have the eye on the double.
