He spent a decade with the youth setup at FC Lorient A club that he spent 16 years of his life. He only made three appearances his first season. Before he broke through into the first team consistently. FC Lorient was still in Ligue 2 At the time. However, that season they earned promotion to the top division in France. He was one of the club's key players over The next three seasons. They finished 16th two years in a row before overachieving his last season at the club finishing in 10th. Last summer he secured a move across town to Renns making a 20 million move. He performed well As they finished 10th in the table last season. For their expectations and standards, it was disappointing. The midfielder featured 17 times last campaign although the club had a disappointing season, they ended up in the semi-final of the French Cup. Enzo Fee Lee Is the biggest investment Roma has made in Midfield since Cristante 5 years ago. The 23 million Roma are paying may seem steep but in the long run, it will be worth it. Florent Ghisolfi Is very familiar with him. Enzo Fee Lee meets the surplus requirements. Roma needed significant help in central Midfield. Lorenzo Pellegrini had a terrific season under De Rossi; Cristante made his contributions, and Leo Paredes had a strong second half However, they needed strength in central Midfield. Enzo Fee Lee has been one of the best Central midfielders in France. He has developed himself into a midfielder who has polished various skills. He is the prototype midfielder that Roma have been asking for. He has a good profile and reputation in France and has stood out Although Roma made some solid contributions in the Midfield, not nearly enough. Cristante & Leo Paredes sit back closer to the defensive area on the other hand, Lorenzo Pellegrini enjoys the freedom to push forward where he can be effective. they didn't have a midfielder last year who was able to operate confidently and consistently in the central area. the three main midfielders that Roma used last year. Two of them are defensive-oriented and one of them is an attacking piece that likes the freedom to roam up front near the attack. Roma is missing that piece in the middle that has capabilities in both areas. An individual That can keep possession and keep Roma in control allowing them to dictate their terms. Roma has their goal-scoring midfielder in Lorenzo Pellegrini. they have their defensive midfielders in Leo Paredes & Cristante. Roma currently doesn't have a central midfielder who can run the orchestra. He's only 24 years old with a lot of room to grow. Finally has earned the big move to the Italian Capital. The new sporting director is familiar with him and would know more than any of us. Enzo Fee Lee has an incredibly strong skill set and is very adaptable during his time in France he has had to deal with multiple formations. He has been fairly sharp even when adjusted. Enzo may not be a defensive midfielder by design. Roma has two other midfielders in the rotation and their priority is defensive capabilities. However, Enzo's very different where he has a skill set that would apply in both the defensive and attacking components. One of his most integral assets is he is an elite ball winner. He takes great pleasure in possessing the ball from his opponents he has done this in multiple different ways. He is very athletic, quick, intelligent, and reads the game extremely well. These sort of abilities make it simple for him to get a read on attacking players and to mark them extremely well. He is an excellent dribbler. He has a knack for preventing counter-attacks before they persist making sliding tackles picking off the ball with a wide range of interceptions. His defensive contributions will allow him to be the engine in central Midfield. His mentality when retrieving the ball isn't about going up into the attacking trying to create something himself. he is often trying to create something for others. He's a decent playmaker and can find the right way to exploit the opposition. He can pull these things off with sliding tackles, breathing the ball well, and intercepting while also tracking an attacker's movements to poke The ball out back into Roma's possession. Probably his best asset is his ability to repossess the ball from the opposition while also being very calm and collected surrounding the ball. He is capable of playing an accurate long ball across the top into attacking areas. It will be particularly helpful for the likes of Lorenzo Pellegrini, an amazing passer in his own right who likes to push forward a possible connection between the two before heading it into. He can be a threat to power applications from distance when he unloads from distance a lot of the time he is on target and hits it with great power. He scored six goals his last season at FC Lorient I wouldn't expect him to become a goal-scoring midfielder overnight, but as we have seen in the past recently, it is something that is in his wheelhouse. Possibly Roma can open up his goal-scoring as something that he can develop in the future. However. Enzo Is not being brought there for that purpose. He is brought there to be a nuisance for the attack getting the ball back quickly and playing a role in kickstarting counter-attacking situations. In hindsight, this deal is exactly what Roma needs this upcoming season. He has a good body on him with good physical traits as well which makes it difficult to take the ball off of him. He's not physically imposing or a brute force. a lot of the time he's not going to win 50/50 balls and it's something they can work around because his gift of repossession and tackling very smart player that will fit into this Roma team very nicely. He has all the traits and potential to be a very interesting yet very effective player for Roma's Central Midfield. they needed someone like this in their team.

How he Fits In Rome: What his Role May Be?

There's so much that is unknown ahead of this upcoming season. I would assume that he will not be the only addition to the Midfield this season. However, there's no doubt that Enzo is the marquee arrival for the Midfield issues as they look to upgrade before the upcoming season as there will be a great opportunity for Roma to finally return to the Champions League. The system that Roma plays this upcoming season could be in various situations. There is some possibility of a five-man Midfield. there's also a possibility of potentially a three-man Midfield. In that, though there will be one attacking piece that goes forward that will be the captain Pellegrini so regardless of what system is inevitably played Enzo Fee Lee will be able to adapt. He will find a way to play in any situation that he has put in. He walks into the starting lineup from the beginning. I fully expect him to be heavily featured in the Midfield. Now. Roma needs to get another Central midfielder on top of this. However, Enzo is the main Central midfielder at Roma. other arrivals could come as well. however, I suspect Enzo will feature very regularly for Roma. He is a starter for this team. Another defensive midfielder could be on the schedule for an arrival as well. However, given the resources that Roma had in Midfield at this moment, we still don't know if Paredes is going to take the offer he has from Saudi Arabia. he may depart However, currently constructed in a three-man midfielder. Enzo will probably be put on either the left or the right side. The only reason I'd say this is Pellegrini will likely go forward so Enzo will be able to drift towards the central area probably he's better suited for that position, but Pellegrini needs to be able to roam forward without abandoning the left or right side. In a five-man Midfield, it is clear that he starts in the middle and then Pellegrini starts next to him which would allow potentially Pellegrini to operate forward as we all expect him to do while also Enzo being able to sit in the middle and dictate everything from the central area. Enzo will have his eye on the defensive areas and make sure he's in control most of the time. He is a box-to-box midfielder meaning he can contribute as I said before both attacking and defensive positions. However, Enzo's importance in keeping things intact will be lobbying around the central area. Enzo is the only midfielder we have at this moment. that is completely Central. The others either end up drifting towards an attacking role or a defensive one. This is why Roma should probably bring in one more just in case and less. they're going to promote one of the kids from the primavera. Now resting for a big game is more than possible. however, just in terms of where he's going to be placed and how Elizabeth going to be, I suspect he will start mutually every day as he should. This is a huge upgrade to the Roma squad while also feeling the need with a player that comes with a high level of experience at the top level and with a skill set that will favor the majority of their squad.
