Roma triple Swoop for Thøgersen, Hanshaw & Lukášováá #2332
Thøgersen (Inter),Hanshaw (Frankfurt), Lukášov (Slavic Prague)
The Roma ladies retained their league title last season. After winning their first title in club history on the women’s side, the year before. Roma made the necessary additions to take a bigger step than forward the three-headed monster of Valentina Giacinti, Evelyn Viens & Manuela Giuliano was responsible for 66 goals while the team collectively scored over 100 for the second consecutive season. Roma has a loaded deck and may not need a ton of reinforcements not to mention the January acquisition of Aaliyah Pilgrim. However, Spuna & Betty Bavagnoli Still looking to strengthen the squad. They pulled off three moves, left back Verena Hanshaw from Frankfurt Slavic Prague goalkeeper Olivie Lukásová & Inter Milan Central Midfielder Frederikke Thøgersen join the Champions to help them reach their objectives. More signings could be on the horizon but a strong start to the summer.
Verena Hanshaw (31): Frankfurt
2009–2010: Landhaus Wien
2010–2011: Herfoder SV
2011–2014: Cloppenburg
2014–2016: SC Freiburg
2016–2018: SC Sand
2018–2023: Eintracht Frankfurt
Austria: 2012- 102 Caps
Verena Hanshaw became the first arrival of the summer. She is an incredibly experienced player having played for various clubs throughout Germany. She started her footballing journey in her home country of Austria with Landhaus Wien. Since then she has been in Germany having played for five different clubs in the Bundesliga. Spent one season with Herfoder SV, Three seasons at Cloppenburg, and Two seasons with SC Sand before getting the big move to Frankfurt where she has spent the last five seasons. Frankfurt is not exactly Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich. They are among the next best during those past five seasons, she played in the Champions League and Frankfurt over the past five seasons has finished in the top five In four of those seasons. She understands what it means to compete against the very best. She has also been capped by her country 102 times. She’s very experienced and has gone through many different situations. She has played with several clubs and has learned things from each of those experiences. This could be very useful to a Roma side that wants to take the next step and truly become one of the elite teams in the world. They arguably are right on that doorstep but need a few pieces to get it across the line through it. She has supplied 11 assists in the last three seasons. For a leftback that is a fairly good return. She is battle-tested and capable of matching up against the very best attacking players. She may not be the First choice this upcoming season, but there is still a possibility of that. It gives Roma flexibility and depth in the position. Eseosa Aigbogun was brought in last season from Paris FC. She suffered a torn ACL Midway through the season. Roma was forced to make a January move to give them a bit more depth in that position. The vision of this acquisition outside the quality she can bring to the table is two things. Number one giving Roma some depth options at the fullback spot. Roma currently has other than Eseosa Aigbogun they have Lucia Di Guglielmo A player that has contributed last season sometimes as a starter, but a lot of times off the Bench has given Roma solid minutes. In addition to that Captain Bartoli However, she is in her mid-thirties and probably will not play that many more seasons. It is a possibility that this campaign will be the last. Even though Hanshaw is In her early thirties It gives Roma a bit more flexibility, especially with Bartoli possibly not being a starter this season. The Austrian international not only provides value this season with the possibility to start from the beginning of the season but also takes a longer viewpoint of Roma at the fullback spot. Bartoli may retire this season and she may play a little longer. However, Roma should be prepared for an individual who can come in and replace her when the time comes. She is an excellent ball-winner and a ruthless tackler. She can read situations very well and find ways to regain possession for Roma sometimes she does take some risks. However, she’s very calculated with the way she handles the responsibility at fullback. This is the perfect opportunity to be able to show on a bigger stage with a team in the Champions League that she can contribute. Roma is loaded from top to bottom. however, at fullback, is one of the areas in which Roma needs the most help. Hanshaw is capable of contributing now to a winning team and she can start to put trophies on the table.
Olivie Lukásová (23) Slavic Prague, Goalkeeper: Young, Winner, CL Experience, Backup for Cesar
Slavic Prague: 2018–2023 Apps: 67
4X Czech Champion
3X Czech Cup
Czechia: 18 Apps
Olivie Lukásová completed her move to Roma last week. The 23-year-old comes in as a number two to Camellia Caesar. May not be a huge issue of need. However, Camellia Caesar occasionally is going to need to be rested before big games. Roma’s second choice last season did not do as well as Roma would have liked. So they dipped their foot back into the goalkeeping market to try to find an adequate option to backup the Romanian international. Olivie Lukásová comes in with a very good profile. The Czech Republic international is only 23 years old as she is just starting to get her career off the ground. This is the perfect opportunity or time to come to Roma and learn from one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Now wherever you rank Camellia Caesar she certainly is in the top 10. She was named the goalkeeper of the season last campaign on the way to another title. Roma trusts the Romanian However, bringing the 23-year-old to Rome even if not as a number one can still be incredibly valuable, not only to her individually, considering she’ll be learning under one of the best but also collectively. Roma will be playing in three separate competitions next season. The league the Copa Italia and the Champions League. Roma to a big degree, runs the table in the league. There will be moments when Camellia Caesar will want to be fresh. Roma wants to be in a situation where they can opt for the young goalkeeper to put together productive performances to help Roma continue to dominate Italian football. It’s unclear what the long-term plans are going to be. However, Roma wants to have a safe pair of hands waiting in case of emergency or if they need to give some rest to the starter. She has been the starting goalkeeper at Slavic Prague over the last three seasons. She has won two titles in Czechia as the starter while also adding League cups along with what is already a very good resume. She has won the league title in Czechia four times and has won the League Cup three times. She has already accrued eight trophies at just 23 years old. She was very impressive in the Champions League for Slavic Prague. Even though they failed to get out of the group, it was her first real experience against the very best. ironically, the season before Roma had to beat Slavic Prague to qualify for the group stage. She has also become Czechia's international goalkeeper even though she has only put together less 18 appearances for the national team. She has been very impressive and she’s not going to let go of that position anytime soon. It is true next season she will not be the starting goalkeeper. So essentially she traded out being a starter in the Czech Republic to become number two on the best team in Italy. She will continue her development at Roma and you never know she may get more opportunities than meets the eye. She’s not going to displace Camellia Caesar in the starting lineup, but given her age and the development that she’s going to take this season, I would not be surprised if Roma gives her as many opportunities as they can given the situation being the starting goalkeeper for the Copa Italia. Camellia Caesar to a degree felt exhausted at the end of the season. that is why roamed my head to win a bunch of crazy games at the end of the year. with Olivia now in town he could take the pressure off and allow the young Czech Republic goalkeeper to get some opportunities with Rome at this season. 2 days ago her stock just went up as well. The World Cup Champions Spain were beaten by Czechia during qualifying. Olivia was in goal as they pulled off the upset and did a terrific job keeping the Spanish attack frustrated. She brings a lot of value to the team even if it won’t be as a starter. She played big Champions League matches last season They took a draw against Olympic Lyon, one of the two best teams in the world, and performed well for their standards. not to mention they did a good job in qualifying to earn the right to play in the Champions League. It’s hard to find a safer pair of hands to be there to back up. Camellia Caesar last season Roma’s number two was an aging goalkeeper this season they got a young keeper with a lot to prove she not only will learn a lot.

Roma has frequently used the Nordic and Scandinavian markets. This one is no different. Over the last several seasons, Roma has brought in several players from those countries. For example, Emma Lind, Andrine Hergerberg, Sophie Haug, Lindstrom, Anja Sønstevold Just to name a few. Players on the current team there are only two of them. Emile Haavi & Sanne Troelsgaard. However, Roma has always looked in this region to find players Frederikke Thøgersen Is the latest to be added to that list. Roma continues to add depth to their team. They struck another deal with Inter Milan as they have worked on multiple negotiations over the last 2 years. Frederikke Thøgersen Is a true winner. She knows everything about winning trophies. Even though when she went abroad she hasn’t managed to do so. She still understands what it takes to win at a top level. She has five trophies and has meddled twice internationally. The 29-year-old comes in hoping to help add depth to the Midfield. Adding another piece that has experience in this league is a smart acquisition for the Italian Champions. Manuela Giuliano was the player of the season. She put up forward numbers and had double-digit goals and assists. She plays more of an attacking role sometimes underneath the front three, while other times can drift back into the central area. Roma also possesses Greggi A classic center Midfielder a playmaker. Sanne Troelsgaard Is the hero from the Coppa Italia and has a relationship with her already. The two of them have played internationally together with Denmark. They made the Euro final together in 2017 and have no each other for many years. Frederikke Thøgersen has 58 appearances for the national team meanwhile Sanne Troelsgaard has 121. Despite that, they are very familiar with one another As she comes into this team already having a relationship with one of her demons. Roma has other pieces in Midfield but bringing her into this situation we’ll just add to the depth. This is the third Italian side that she has played with. She can come into the league next season with experience playing in Italy. She has already played for Fiorentina and Inter Milan last season. She won all of her trophies with Fortuna Hjørring Three League titles and Two Danish cups in six seasons. She has won trophies. Along with international experience with Denmark. She has played at the World Cup and the Euros in this region Roma often can find quality. I don’t think this is any different. The most important thing is that she adds depth making Roma’s Midfield that much more dangerous. She has yet to win anything significant in Italy yet but it could be loading….
