Roma vs Lecce Talking Points #1581
Dybala Injured but Worth the Gamble: Only expect to miss a Month
Paolo Dybala has been Roma’s star signing this season. Arguably the biggest acquisition the club has landed since Gabriel Batistuta in the summer of 2001. Paolo Dybala became a free agent last summer. Inter Milan was explicitly identified as the favorite for his signature. Jose Mourinho identified the Argentine as a surplus requirement to take this Roma side to another level in hopes of qualifying for the Champions League. Thousands of Romans fill the streets in his introduction to the fans. He was worth the risk taken when Roma signed him in the summer. He has been the most influential player on the team, impacting Roma’s most important matches. He has been the playmaker that Roma has always needed. Adding to a side that already has Tammy Abraham, Lorenzo Pellegrini, and Nicolo zaniolo. The Argentine already has nine goal contributions and all competitions and has come up and provided brilliance in the most important moments. So far, he has been one of the best three players in Italian football this season. The stats are great, but it’s the way he impacts the team and all aspects of it. However, when Roma made this deal, they understood the risks of his injury history. We have hit a crossroads. After another breathtaking display on Sunday, Dybala converted a penalty to put Roma into the lead. However, he felt a hamstring pull as it came off of his foot. He had to be immediately replaced and had significant warning signs from Mourinho. It has been confirmed after tests that Dybala will be out for roughly a month. Since it’s just a hamstring injury, there is a possibility of him still making it back for the World Cup. The diagnosis is 4 to 8 weeks, but it’s enough time for him to recover for the World Cup in mid-November. It is a particular blow to a Roma team that sometimes fails to find inspiration without his impact. He will miss the Napoli game and the Derby against Lazio on November 4th. This puts a lot of pressure on some of the other parts of the team to contribute and step up. Even though we have come to this moment, he will only miss a couple of league matches, given his timetable. He will be available for most of the second half of the season and still has a chance to make the World Cup. Dybala was not called up for the Copa America triumph two summers ago. It would be a blow if he were to miss out on an Argentina team that is heavily favored to win the World Cup. From a Roma perspective, it is a side relief that he’s only going to miss a couple of games. It’ll be important that the other parts contribute. However, in light of these events, He has been well worth it. The impact he has made on this Roma side is undeniable. He’s been one of the best playmakers in Italian football this season and is currently one of the best players in this season. In the end, he was building a case as potential player of the season and plaudits. It will be tough to survive without him, but considering The impact he has already made in a short time, Even with his injury, He has proven to be worth the gamble regardless.
Tammy Abraham and Belotti Need to Step Up in Dybala’s Absence
Paolo Dybala’s injury is one that’s going to be tough to deal with. We know how important he has been to the Roma side. When Roma isn’t playing particularly well, he can find a moment sometimes out of nothing, providing it at a critical time in a tough game. This is what Roma is going to miss from the impact he has. Without Dybala, Roma has struggled in certain areas and has found things difficult. Not necessarily in creating chances because Roma have Lorenzo Pellegrini, a player with impactful vision but conviction in front of goal. They’re just a little something missing when he’s not in the team. However, it is also an opportunity for Roma to galvanize from his being out and continue to pick up results even in his absence. There’s going to be a lot of pressure put on certain individuals on this Roma team; there’s no getting away from that. It is just the reality. However, it’s still an opportunity to grow and step up when the team needs them the most. It’s going to be more difficult. Pablo Dybala is a game-changer and one of the best playmakers in the league. Roma will have to figure out a way around that while still posing as a threat, especially in the big games; Lazio and Napoli come to mind. It’s going to take a lot to get points from those games and to put forward the best possible performances. Not to mention Thursday in Spain in the Europa League will be even tougher now. Roma is a team that has significant injuries In addition to Dybala. Rick karsdorp has recently returned to training; there’s hope that maybe he can return for Napoli but probably unlikely. On top of that, Celk is also going to be out for a little while, along with Gini wijnaldum. This puts a lot of pressure on Lorenzo Pellegrini, Tammy Abraham, Andrea Belotti, Zaniolo, and Nicola Zalewski. Lorenzo Pellegrini is primarily going to be looked at as the leader and the creator in midfield. His vision and incredible ability he possesses It’s something he’s up for. He probably doesn’t have much to worry about because I believe in Lorenzo Pellegrini and his ability to step up when needed. Nicola Zalewski was incredible last night, and if he can continue to play at that peak form, it will only do good things for the club. The two with the most pressure right now and then need the most impact on this team without Dybala are Tammy Abraham and Andrea Belotti. Tammy Abraham had a career year last season in Italy. He scored 27 goals in his debut season. He took the number 9 shirt recently departed by club legend edin Dzeko. While he had a lot of success last season, that is a lot of pressure to have to uplift regularly. The Bosnian bomber scored 119 goals for the club and six seasons. The third-highest goal scorer in club history. Even though he was not a part of the trophy last season, he’s a huge part of this era at Roma. Roma needed a superstar when Totti left, and De Rossi left shortly after. Mohamed Salah left Roma high, and dry edin Dzeko guided Roma out of a dark time at the club. Stayed with the club during it. It went sour at the end, but his importance to Roma is undeniable. So that’s added pressure. On top of the fact that Tammy Abraham has been struggling in front of goal. He has scored a couple of goals this season and last season. By this time, he hadn’t caught fire yet. This is the best possible opportunity to do so. With many reports of the Premier League, circling for him next summer and whether or not. Chelsea will activate the buyback clause. He needs to shun it out and perform. He has poured cold water over the rumors, but nonetheless, there will only continue as he continues in Italy. He wants to make the World Cup squad. Given the other options in attacking positions with England, he should with no problem, but it will not work that way. He will have to continue to perform at the high level we saw from him last season. He needs to get together in front of goal and start finding the back of the net more regularly. Andrea Belotti only scored eight goals last season with Torino, but as a number two with this Roma side, it has a match in heaven. However, just one goal in the Europa League. Since he arrived. He has not started many games that will change with the absence of Dybala. The two of them will have to work together and find the back of the net more regularly. If those two can get rolling, Roma can beat Napoli and Lazio. They’ll have to be in sharp form, and they’ll have to take chances when they come. Something they’ve been unable to do so far. Pellegrini will find ways to get them the ball, but it’s going to be on them to find the back of the net and to score the goals. They’re not going to be more important than they are right now. Those two need to find a connection with one another. If they do and they sharpen it up in front of goal, Roma can get over this stretch with a lot of points. Whether they do or don’t will depend on their ability to finish chances in front of goal. Nicolo zaniolo is another that is going to need to step up. He’s gone through an awful lot of his injuries. He is extremely explosive and such a dynamic threat with the ball. There’s no getting out of it. He has to be a part of this, too and his last couple of performances haven’t been great. Roma fans have a strange obsession with him. While he has been very good since he returned from injury, he did score that goal in the conference League final. His performance is overall in the last year. Need to be better. He should never be put in a position where his manager needs to take him off at halftime. We need to see the very best version of himself, whatever that is. If they all can step up and work together and find out what they can do and make this work without Dybala when the Argentine returns, Roma will be ready to take everybody on. If all goes well and they perform their firing, they’re getting results, and then you see one of the best playmakers in the league come back. It could ignite an unlikely second-half charge for the league, but it will only happen if the four of these guys can perform, come together and make this work without him. That is going to be the burning question.
Nicola Zalewski Is a SPEICAL BOY
Following a devastating performance on Sunday night, Roma reassures themselves that they have a special boy in Nicola Zalewski. The 20-year-old burst onto the scene 2 years ago In the Europa League semi-final against Manchester, United. Roma forced to erase an 6–2 deficit in the first leg at Old Trafford. Nicola Zalewski was thrown into the fire late in the second leg’s closing portion. Finds the back of the net and what was a mere consolation losing 8–5 on aggregate. However, even though the Young Pole had played a couple of minutes here and there earlier in the season. He made an influence for the first time under Paolo Fonseca in that match. During the last campaign, he had his breakout season. Leo spinazzola ruptured his Achilles at the European championships, leaving him out for the entire season. He made two appearances at the end but was done for the campaign. Matthias Vina didn’t exactly work out after his move from Brazil. Jose Mourinho called upon The Polish teenager for a different aspect of the team. Nicola Zalewski has been a high-profile figure in the Roma academy for quite some time. Roma has probably had the best academy of the last decade. It has produced so many top-quality players. Not all of them end up playing for Roma regularly. The notable one on the current Roma side is Lorenzo Pellegrini, but even he was sold before being brought back. Nicola Zalewski was an absolute monster in the academy. Roma fans have been talking about him for many years. He managed to make a statement when he got his chance or others had failed. He was a striker and an attacking midfielder with the primavera. However, Jose Mourinho wanted to experiment and see if he could do a job as a wingback. He was influential in Roma’s conference League campaign and played a huge part in the league and then got back into the Europa League. He became a regular in the Roma team and an essential pillar to the club’s future. A new contract has been signed and sealed, and already looking at negotiating another one. PSG and Borussia Dortmund have circled since, but Roma has been clear that he is untouchable. On the match Sunday night, he was breathtaking The best player on the pitch, at least from my vintage point. He supplied such weaponry going forward in the attacking sense while he still needed some work. Defensively as we have seen in Theo Hernandez, It can be modified and worked on. He’s only going to improve in this aspect of his game as time develops in the attack in front. He is such a weapon, though. Roma is facing injuries in that position, and he is going to fill that spot, at least for now, and I think he should start some games. While he’s going to have to go to his less comfortable side with Leo on the other. He seemed to thrive last night in these conditions. He is a special boy who will be one for the future. A Roman-born star could be one of the rising stars at the World Cup. While Italy failed to make it, Poland did not. He does not have an Italian passport despite being born in Italy. He is Polish Italian and has made seven appearances for the national team and, indeed, will be called up for Qatar. It’s unclear how far Poland will go at the tournament, but there’s always hope they could go in a big run, and he can show the world how much of a talent he is. In his age bracket at his position, very few offer what he does with massive potential that he hasn’t even tapped into yet. Last night was just another reminder, but how special he is. Roma indeed has found themselves a rising star in Nicola Zalewski, one of the team’s pillars for the future. He is certainly going to take advantage of the extra minutes. The young pole gets better with each game as he is such a special player that it is important for the infrastructure of Roma. A sensational display in a tough and greedy victory on Sunday night.
