Serie A Storylines MD3 #2298
Inter Milan Are Back
Inter over the first two games of The season did reasonably well. However, that being said, it was a little sloppy at the beginning. In the opening match against Genoa away from home They failed to secure maximum points In a dramatic ending Genoa, securing a late goal to see points split. Marcus Thuram scored twice. However, inter didn't look as dominant as they were capable of. We all expected them to come into this season in full force and show their level, especially considering they are substantially better than every other team in Italian football. By far even the likes of Juventus are still miles away, so the fact that they didn't come out swinging against a Genoa side that are good but it was a little bit of a letdown. In the second match of the season they took on Lecce a team, which probably is going to be in the relegation battle this season. they picked up maximum points but it still was a little off, they weren't showing their best capabilities. Inter is one of the best teams in the world. They are on a short list of teams that are capable of winning the Champions League even beating Real Madrid if we see them at their best. Through the first two games of the season, despite collecting four Points, they certainly didn't appear to look as sharp as they are. allowing anyone else to take their crown Would be unacceptable considering how much better they are than the rest of the pack. while others have improved Inter, Milan is heavily expected to cruise towards another title, and through the first two games, we didn't see the version of them that we all expected to raise some question marks. This past week they were at home against Atalanta The Europa League winners. Gasparini's side also ended up finishing 4th last season. It was the biggest test of the season so far for Inter Milan. Atalanta came into the match with just three points. However, it looked like they had a certain quality despite falling to Torino the week before Matteo Retugi Head scored three goals in two games. He has looked like a capable replacement for Scammaca even though the side from Bergamo lost some pieces, they have added some that had made the possibility of the trip to Inter Milan very interesting. Before Friday night's clash, they hadn't shown that they were the indestructible force. We all know that they are capable of displaying. However, after the 90 minutes that we saw on Friday night, Not only did they perform well they also sent shockwaves through Italian football. Inter are still the hunted they are still the team to be and it's still going to be an incredibly difficult equation for anyone else to lift the title This season. In all honesty, they should be the favorite to win both the title and the Italian Cup along with being one of the teams most qualified to prevent Real Madrid from retaining the Champions League. It was over very quickly. they dominated the side from Bergamo from start to finish. They scored two goals inside the opening half hour. They steamrolled them to a 4-0 victory! It was essentially like a lion playing with its carcass. That's how dominating it was. It could have been a lot worse than it turned out to be. They could have easily scored five or six. Marcus Thuram Inter Milan's number two has scored four goals from the opening Three matches. Latauro Martinez hasn't found the back of the net as of yet. He did pretty well in the opening match. didn't play the second week and did decently well Last Friday night. That exactly highlights how scary they can be. They smashed the opposition to pieces without their best player finding the back of the net. When Martinez starts scoring regularly, they will be as indestructible as they come. they reclaim their spot at the top of the table. It is a place now that they very well may sit until the end of the season. As much as Juventus has made some improvements Inter Still reign supreme in Italian football as they send a huge message that they are still the most dominant force in this league. It will take something miraculous to take them down.
Victor Osimhen vs Napoli
Victor Osimhen's saga with Napoli has finally reached some resolution as he leaves the club in the closing hours of the transfer window. The departure of the Nigerian Striker seemed imminent. Napoli could not find a permanent deal for him after a move from Saudi Arabia fell through along with PSG and Chelsea. That being said, after the transfer window closed, he still had a possibility of a different route. The Turkish Super League has a later transfer deadline day than most of Europe Galatasaray managed to secure a deal on a loan until the end of the season. He will sign a new contract and then head to the Turkish Giants. That is the smaller part of this entire situation. The way Victor Osimhen has been treated by Napoli has been ridiculous. it's truly disgusting behavior by the Naples-based club. Victor Osimhen Is one of the biggest reasons that Napoli won the title 2 years ago. He has been in Italy for the last 4 years and has displayed in a very short amount of time that he is one of the best strikers in Italy. Not only has he won the league title but also secured the Golden Boot during the year he won the title. although the reality of Victor may not be that season, he is still an incredibly gifted Striker who is capable of 18+ seasons. No matter what you think of him, He is one of the best strikers in the world. There is a reason Napoli at one point had such a big price tag on him. Antonio Conte has displayed a level of idiotic behavior. He decided instead of getting his hands on one of the best strikers in the world that he would rather have Lukaku. Lukaku is capable of putting together a decent season. He can put up numbers but he rarely ever shows up in the big matches when it is important. His goal-scoring record against the top six in Italy is horrendous. He's a good goal scorer but when it counts can never deliver. This is what Antonio Conte wanted instead of a striker that has historically always been able to show up against the best in Italy. His big idea from taking Napoli from the gutter of 10th place to back into the Champions League was what exactly? taking away one of the best strikers in Italy and in bringing in a striker that always seems to struggle in the big matches. A lot of people in this dispute have the audacity to try to blame Victor for this. This season he did indeed end up asking to leave. However, this was only after the vindictive behavior was shown by Napoli. Antonio Conte had no interest in working with one of the best strikers in Italy. Instead, he brought in Lukaku. I don't know if there's a bigger sense of disrespect than that. Lukaku is nowhere near Victor. he is a substantially better player and he does way more. Lukaku has a decent gold score, but Victor is an overall all-around Striker who can do a lot of amazing things. He's just as strong physically as Lukaku. He's a bigger threat through the air. He's got a better touch in front of goal and he can score when it matters. He has scored 76 goals in 133 matches. The year they won the title he scored 31. The first year he would have scored more if it wasn't for his injury. When Lukaku came in for Napoli, Napoli tried to give him Victor's number while he was still on the team. like the audacity to have a level of disrespect to a player that has meant so much to Napoli in winning the title. It's almost as if they forgot what he's done. Admittedly, I have my reservations and criticism surrounding Victor, but it has nothing to do with his ability to thrive and deliver on the pitch. He is one of the most difficult strikers to deal with regularly. yet, Napoli has decided to continue to disrespect him. Not only that last season when he missed a penalty, Napoli made a Tiktok mocking him. This is when everything started to fall apart. This is when the transfer request came in. This is where all this stuff happened. Before that, he was negotiating a new contract with Napoli. Victor, long story short has been so disrespected by Napoli. It's disgusting the way they've treated him. Antonio Conte making a horrendous football decision which he has is one thing. However, trying to push him out and give away his number to a different player while he was still on the team is horrendous behavior. Not only that, it was Napoli's recommendation to Lukaku to take the number nine. The only reason Lukaku did not wear the number nine is out of respect for Victor. Napoli wanted Lukaku to take his number which shows the level of vindictiveness cruelty and disrespect that they show the player that is literally delivered them a title. What's going to happen this season is he's going to go to Turkey and win the title with Galatasaray He's probably going to be one of the top scorers in the league. He's going to smash it. Then he'll come back from Napoli and earn a massive move. Napoli has shattered that relationship overnight and they did it. For what purpose? What why? why would they do all this? They burn that bridge over nothing. It is beyond unconscionable the way they treated him. He did ask to leave but Napoli used to blame for that. they pushed him to leave indirectly. in this big exchange or whatever you want to call it, I will always side with Victor because the guy is a special player that Napoli treated horrendously. I'm beyond speechless about the way that he has been treated and the way the situation has been handled by Napoli. He is one of their best players over the last decade. That's just the truth. Despite that, they decide to kick him out. Napoli has struggled in all of their games this season because he's not been there. the chances of them putting together a legitimate Chase for the title are small. Their getting into the Champions League is small with Victor. they could be an absolute monster, but instead of trying to win with him, they've decided to disrespect him. I will always have Victor's back because as much as certain things about him may bother me to a degree This is completely unacceptable behavior by Napoli.
Torino Cooking
Torino has been an incredible surprise so far this season. While I don't expect Them to maintain this pace and end up fighting for the Champions League. They've had an incredibly impressive start to the campaign. They currently sit top of the table level on points with both Juventus and Inter. Torino consistently has been a top 10 team since the arrival of Ivan Juric The 3 years he spent in Torino. They finished in the top 10 each of the three times. The year before he got there they finished 17th. He took them from a relegation side. To a team That has pushed Europe each of the last few years. They made the Europa League playoff One year but outside of that have not been a true factor in Italian football since 1984 when they won the title. this season they have gone off to a great start. Ivan Juric isn't there anymore over the last two seasons they have lost a critical piece in each of those seasons. However, they have a well-balanced squad with capable pieces in each position. They may not have the biggest names but Duvan Zapata has been an incredibly important acquisition from last season. Atalanta's Second greatest player in club history has thrived with Torino. 13 goals and five assists in his first season escort and assisted already this season. They also have added Che Adams their front two will have success this season. They may not be the most dominating attack, but they will find the back of the net. Their midfield for a mid-level team that has the budget of Torino is as strong as one can get. across the board Borja Sosa, Illic, Linetty, Samuel Ricci & Lazaro A strong back three, and Savic in goal They look to have the making of a strong side that is capable of quite a lot this evening. The Europa League This upcoming season. Draw with AC Milan beat Atalanta & Best Venezia They are off to a terrific start.
