AC Milan’s scudetto redemption

The beautiful city of Milan has finally been painted red, after 11 years the rossoneri have brought home the coveted scudetto. 11 years of pain, sufferings, defeats, patience and progress finally paid off as Milan were crowned the champions of Italy in 2022. The club had a massive downfall ever since their last scudetto win prior to yesterday, what seemed like the end of a beautiful era, years later, a revolution has started again. Ownership issues caused the club to break down and hit rock bottom, those few years were nothing short of hell for the Rossoneri. But there’s this saying, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”, it took years and years for the Italian club to rebuild itself and boy was the wait worth it.

Heading into the 21/22 season, Milan weren’t predicted to be the champions, standing as the underdogs Infront of teams like Inter, Napoli and Juventus, it seemed nearly impossible to achieve the dream this season. But their sheer will and grit to give their all this season made them who they are today. Pioli deployed a team that played fearlessly, a beautiful free flowing attacking football, much better to that of the top dogs. A mixture of youth and experienced veterans, especially the two veteran strikers upfront, giroud and Zlatan, the rebuilding was on point. Z, who instilled the lion’s mentality, might not have done much on the pitch this season, but off the pitch he was the best leader Milan could’ve asked for
