Back when I was a freshman in college, the only way I could show friends the crazy things I saw in World of Warcraft was to manually record it. This meant buying expensive screen recording software, re-enacting the in-game event — if that was even possible — editing the clip down, uploading it to YouTube, and sharing the link. All this work for a 10-second replay! It was a clumsy process and completely killed the fun and momentum of gaming.

This is why we built Forge. Forge is a simple way for everyday PC gamers to connect and share short-form gaming clips. With Forge, you’ll never miss a moment. Just launch a game and Forge instantly and automatically records everything. It runs quietly in the background without additional hardware and without ads. With one keystroke, you can bring up the in-game highlighter without exiting your game to instantly share a highlight from your last 60 seconds of gameplay. You can also highlight any moment from your entire session after exiting your game.

We’re excited to share the Forge beta with the world and are grateful to our early access users for helping us shape Forge to be the easiest way for people to record and share their gaming moments. You can download Forge at http://forge.gg. As the beta is still a work in progress, please share your feedback with us or report any issues to help@forge.gg.
