The Disaster Draft?? (What If 5+ Players Died on One Team)
The NBA is a crazy crazy league but only one time in NBA history has any team ever came close to having the Disaster Draft thrown at them.One of the Lakers teams back in the 60’s almost had a private jet crash but thankfully it didn’t. The Disaster Draft is a rule that was created in 2002. The rule states that if 5 or more players on a team die at the same time that team gets to have a disaster draft. Every NBA team except the team that the Disaster happened too gets to protect 5 players. So most teams would do there starting lineup or maybe a young bench player. But imagine how screwed the NBA could really be if this did happen first off the NBA would be in shock and very dark if that were too happen, but what if 5 of the Warriors bench players passed away. Then NBA fans would riot and riot and riot, that would be unfair but what if a team like the Nets where they don’t really have any young pieces and or a solidified star that could be really helpful. In today’s article I will basically use a random NBA team generator to decide the team that the players die from. Let’s get right into it!

It was December 28th 2018 and the Miami Heat were facing off against the Cleveland Cavaliers. 3 days after Christmas, disaster wasn’t on any Heat or Cavaliers fan minds. The game started at 8:00 PM and all the fans were in the seat awaiting tip off, 2nd quarter comes by and the Cavaliers are up and winning in the Heat arena fans are disappointed and are waiting eagerly for a comeback until a couple minutes later many rumbles come from the arena and they let it slide, seconds later more heavier and scarier rumbles come through the arena, they get on the PA and tell everyone to exit the arena. But it’s too late the walls of the arena cave in and all the fans in the arena and all the players on the court were smashed in the disaster. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat are entering the Disaster Draft in the middle of the season. Here is every player from every team that is protected or unprotected. (Keep in mind only one player can be taken from a team and then no one else so teams can only lose 1 player each)
