Russ and KD have only played 2 years without each other on the same team not counting injuries. KD’s rookie year 07–08 and KD’s split with the Warriors 16–17. So you would think the bond was close and it was just not close enough I guess.

Not making the playoffs in there first season together, was not a good start but a new young rookie to add this future dynasty could be amazing. This next season with the addition of James Harden they made the playoffs an 8 seed and lost in 6 to the stacked LA Lakers. The 2010–2011 NBA season in the draft they didn’t get any big name additions but still were the 4th seed in the Western Conference. Defeating the Nuggets in 5 games. In the second round beating the Memphis Grizzlies in 7. But then losing to the Mavericks in 5. In the 2011 NBA draft they drafted Reggie Jackson. The Thunder finished as a 2 seed. Blew by every team to reach the finals and get beat in the finals by Lebron and the Heat. The Thunder now finished as the 1 seed in the 2012–2013 season. The playoffs well, The Thunder lost in the second round to the

Memphis Grizzlies. Not having James Harden anymore because they traded him back in 2012 are still doing great and just drafted Steven Adams and Andre Roberson. Finishing as a 2 seed the playoffs were okay for the Thunder but lost in Western Conference finals to the Spurs. KD was injured for this season and the Thunder didn’t make the playoffs. They drafted Cameron Payne but now it is Russ and KD’s last season together they finished as a 3 seed and went on to blow a 3–1 lead in the Western Conference finals.

With KD leaving to go play with the Warriors who they just lost to shocked the entire world. But that didn’t stop Russell Westbrook from averaging a TRIPLE DOUBLE. Making him the second NBA player to average a triple double in a NBA season. There has been talks about Blake Griffin leaving the Clippers to play with Russell which I think would be great for Russell and the future of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
