Gender Inequality has scattered throughout the world, although changes have been made, it still exists. The treatment difference between men and women within the work field, pay, and segregation of occupation is tremendous.

Exactly what is Gender Inequality? Gender Inequality refers to unequal treatment or perception of individuals based on their gender. From work to athletics to knowledge, women are classified as less than men.

One of the biggest inequalities is within the working field. Women are more likely to lose a job than a man and women are less likely to be chosen for a job over a man. Also, women who are mothers are often le

According to Now.org, women only make 77 cents for every dollar men make. Over the past 15 years, women have lost 494,101 dollars due to pay inequity. Pay inequity is a prime example of gender inequality.

For example, in March of 2016, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team filed a charge accusing the U.S. Soccer Federation of wage discrimination between them and the U.S. Men’s National Soccer team.

The top 5 distinguished players along with Jeffrey kessler, a sports lawyer that is representing the USWNT, took action. Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd, Hope Solo, Megan Rapinoe and Becky Sauerbrunn argues that the USWNT gets paid 4x less than the USMNT.

The USWNT, alone, last year produced nearly 20 million in revenue. While the men lost 2 million the same time as the Women produced their amount. Also, Women won the world cup and men did not.

An article published on Sports Illustrated, Landon Donovan (former USMNT team captain) sides with the Women. Donovan states, “USWNT should be treated fairly and compensated based on its nets in revenue.”

Defending the USWNT, Kessler adds “USWNT have out performed the USMNT both economically and playing on the field in every possible way for the past 2 years.”

In the article ¨Pay Disparity in U.S. Soccer? It´s Complicated.¨. by Andrew Das. Das states. ¨since 2008, the U.S. Soccer Federation has paid 12 players at least 1 million and at least 6 of those players were women.¨ But does this hide the big gap between the salary of men and women?

The average pay the USWNT receive is $341,000 and the average pay for USMNT is $580,000. The difference is about $250,000 and the women, in the past 2 years, have played 110 games. While the men have played 76.

Gender Inequality is a huge issue not only in this country but all over the world. Women deserve equal recognition and recompense for all of the hard work they have accomplished. Gender should not be the rationale for pay difference or any other unfair treatment.
