“A Change of Heart About Animals” by Jeremy Rifkin intrigued me with his facts and research. I can see why Rifkin believes that animals are more alike to humans than we think. The reason for his thinking is because animals feel physical and emotional pain. Animals also have deterioration in their health if they don’t receive attention or love. Also, animals are very intellectual and bright. Some animals are able to solve problems quickly. I do believe that animals deserve better treatment than they receive now.

There is one problem, does this mean we have to stop producing basic materials we need to survive? For example, food and clothing have some sort of animal involved. We do need those materials but also need to respect animals. We need to learn how to balance between both of those subjects.
