The Most Valuable Lessons I’ve Learned as a Freelance Copywriter
Be patient and committed.
Teaching didn’t work out. Nursing school didn’t work out.
Then I stumbled onto freelance copywriting.
I took on freelance copywriting full time and haven’t turned back. The journey has been far from easy, yet I’ve learned it’s one of the most rewarding careers.
I get to work from home and strategically scramble a bunch of words together that persuade people to take action, giving clients more profit.
Although I would not be a full-time freelance copywriter without a few speed bumps. A few setbacks. A few lessons.
Be Patient
One of the most common questions you hear people ask when they jump into freelancing is: “how do I find clients?”
Freelancers want to know how to find clients because they want money and they want it fast. This was my mindset when I started freelancing. I wanted to find clients quickly without having 100% mastery of my niche.
I wasn’t patient with the process of becoming a freelance copywriter. I was trying to get from 0 to 100. I wanted to skip steps that were critical to becoming a copywriter.
