Writing can be daunting, whether for personal or professional reasons. It’s not uncommon for writers, from students to novelists and copywriters to ghostwriters, to face writer’s block, distractions, and procrastination. However, by creating the “write” environment, you can overcome these obstacles and experience a sense of accomplishment as your writing improves.

I write for a living, so I’ve learned a few things about creating the best writing environment. Without the right elements in place (and without eliminating the wrong elements), I cannot focus, and my work suffers.

Here are some tips to help you create the best environment for writing.

Schedule Writing at YOUR Best Time

My most important tip for creating a conducive environment for writing is to schedule my writing time when I’m at my best. I write every day, so I need to work when I’m fresh, creative, and energetic. For me, this is right after getting up and having breakfast. With a good night’s sleep behind me and food in my stomach, I can stay focused and productive for several hours straight.
