Empty Promises

“Your wife is sick. You can’t live here anymore,” Brad said angrily.

“Please. She is bedridden from coronavirus. We should keep it contained here,” pleaded Gerry.

With eyes closed, Brad coldly stated, “I don’t care.”

And with three words, a friendship built on compassionate love was destroyed by selfish hate.
