Stepping through the ash and bone, Cherise approached the door. She whispered, “Eternal happiness awaits beyond.”
She never imagined walking through it alone.
Cherise grabbed her necklace and looked to her left, where Bridget should have been. She kept one hand near her still beating heart and pushed the door.
