I still keep washed out images
of a baby-faced me:
unlined, unmarred by life.
The girl in the photograph
is in a garden,
frozen in laughter
bringing blue onto the sky,
green onto the trees,
pinks onto the flowers.
I want to laugh with her.
Instead, I am grieving us.

Inspired by the song “Grieving” by Kehlani ft. James Blake. (It’s kind of a sad, heavy sounding song but I’ve been finding it more soothing to listen to these past few weeks).
