Those cool days, cloudy
with a side of Girl Scout cookies —
impromptu, post
work picnics on
the river talking about all
the things, laughing sometimes and
exhausted whenever else.
Dip our toes,
inhale, exhale,
the turbulence of life
reduced to ripples, with
the best big
sister beside
me smiling, too.
