Ice the size of golf balls batter the truck. Dad U-turns and we speed away. Fascinated, I clamber to the back window to watch our whole house rise majestically into the air and smash into a million pieces.
Instinctively, I start to practice, “Sorry Miss. Hurricane Bertha ate my homework.”
