What to Expect When You Come Home

Twenty-four years later, I have crossed oceans to come home only to find that the sand is no longer soft on my skin; the flowers do not bloom and the insects bite harshly.

My motherland is not as I remembered her, and once again, I am reminded of my orphanhood.
