Harry and Meghan to name next baby boy Muhammad
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be “slightly surprised” that Muhammad is the most popular baby boy name in Britain but want to reflect the country’s values with the naming

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are weighing up which version of Muhammad they will use for their next boy after deciding that they want a name that better reflects British values for their second born.
Meghan said: “Harry and I couldn’t believe how many different versions of the name there is to choose from. You’ve got Muhamed, Mohammad, Mohamed, Muhammad just to name four. We could even mix it up with a Muhammadu or a Muhammet if we’re feeling adventurous.”
In its various different spellings Muhammad is the most popular baby boy name in Britain, demonstrating just how successful the country’s multiculturalism project has been.
Meghan — an outspoken feminist — has also reportedly said she is keen on the name to show others how the teachings of Islam can help Western societies move away from its racist, homophobic, sexist and patriarchal structure. She declined to comment on the Rotherham child sex abuse scandal, the use of Sharia courts in Britain, women’s rights in Saudi Arabia and Brunei’s recent decision to stone those engaging in gay sex.
The numerous ways you can spell it — there’s at least ten according to Wikipedia — also demonstrate just how much diversity there is within the Religion of Peace.
Harry added: “After thinking about it we were pretty disappointed with how few ways there are to spell Archie. We could have done Archy, Archee or even R-Chee if he decided to embrace his African American heritage but compared to Muhammad, we really weren’t left with much wriggle room.”
Meghan in particular was surprised by the popularity of Muhammad in Britain: “Most people I come across are white and called Jack, Chris or Steve — I haven’t yet come across a single Muhammad.
“I do spend most of my time in Windsor or the nice bits of London though.”
Far-right conspiracy theorists have also alleged that the naming comes after the couple lost a bet with Prince Philip.
Philip’s alleged habit of betting on random things was revealed by those same conspiracy theorists who claim his Land Rover crash was a result of him betting a servant he could get the vehicle up to 100mph on a rural Norfolk road.
