Why I’m Making Music Now (And Why It Has Everything to Do with My Writing)
If you’ve been following my work for a while, you might have been surprised — maybe even a little confused — to see me suddenly announce the release of a new song. After all, until recently, everything I shared had been centered around my life as a thriller author.
So why music? Why now?
The short answer is: I’m not switching careers. I’m researching.
One of the ideas I have for a future novel — not my next book, but something I plan to write further down the road — revolves around an artist navigating the evolving world of AI-generated music.
But I didn’t just want to imagine what it would feel like.
I wanted to live it.
Instead of relying solely on second-hand research, I made a decision that felt both exciting and a little daunting: I would become an AI-supported musician for a while.
I wanted to understand, from the inside out, what it means to build a music project in today’s digital world — with all its promises, all its pitfalls, and all the invisible struggles no one tells you about.
