The importance of technology cannot be stressed more than this quote by Tim O’Reilly “What new technology does is create new opportunities to do a job that customers want it to be done”. This quote explains well why upcoming businesses require technology to have their results more efficient. Technology has improved to such an extent not only in our personal lives but it has taken a step further to transform the average workplace. A survey by PWC (Price Waterhouse Coopers), a multinational professional services network of firms, had questions like:

  • Do my employees want it?
  • Will it improve key business functions?
  • Are others in the Big 4 firms implementing it?

All the questions were answered when the firm released the video as follows:

PWC as a firm implemented this technology to further support its employees in a touch-based environment. Their main motto was to look after their clients rather than just showcase who PWC is as a company. They are using this technology to make understand their clients that they care about them by simple details like:

  • What their meeting is about?
  • What time is the meeting scheduled?
  • Where is the meeting?
  • Who will the meeting be with?

These tiny details make an impact on the clients’ minds that the firm is taking their care and is there to provide the best means of communication possible.

Lastly, I would like to put up some reasons why technology is so important in the workplace:

  • Efficiency: Whether it’s getting about better service or better products industries and companies usually look to be better than their competitions. In order to achieve that in the best possible way, technology plays an important role.
  • Accuracy: Different jobs require different types of technical requirements, Computer Science jobs require the employees to be skillful in coding, Accounting jobs require employees to be good in excel, etc. This not only improved the functioning of the company itself but also helps in keeping detailed records without any errors.
  • Effective Communication: Technology has open new doors for us and given us the ability to connect with any employee, leaders, co-workers, etc. Nowadays businesses rely on emails, skype calls, messaging tools to improve business communication. Technology can support you and make sure you are prepared even in the most difficult situations.

Over and above if we want to makes our business and companies more profitable and efficient we must constantly need to update the use of technology.
