Rotating sails for freight ships are spin more than push

The Magnus effect is something most of us have seen in action in baseball, tennis or soccer games when the ball curves due to spin. But it can be harvested for more than entertainment. It’s technically possible to use spinning tubes as a form of sail on ships. The embedded video shows a four-rotor ship sailing, proving that the principle does in fact work.
