The idea of freedom is exciting. The freedom to do whatever we want to do and be whomever we want to be. Freedom gives you the option to be open to anything and anyone and as such, decision making becomes a critical part of human progress. For every pawn you move, it’s a decision to win. Not one move is a waste. The sacrifices and the loss, are all in path of winning.

A father and his son

However, sometimes, to choose can be very daunting. When there are many option, to choose that one best becomes very difficult. At this stage, you will wish that someone can make that better choice for you and take the responsibility for you. This choice, not necessarily because you can’t, or you’re scared of the results but you are interested in the consequences. You do not want to make mistakes. In other instances, you are ignorant of the choice.

To choose is boldness.

The idea of freedom is a great, however, nothing is free.

Freedom is an illusion.

See it this way; while Jesus died for your sins, you still have to ACCEPT the authenticity of His death before SALVATION. His death isn’t a free pass to Heaven. The burden to choose is with you. It didn’t end with His death, you have to believe in His death, accept this truth and you will be called the sons of God.

The boy-child, the first impression of who he is or will become is often defined by the father. People look at him and make suggestions of his identity by taking a cue from the footsteps of the father.

“Like father, like son”

It’s an expression drawn from an identical traits of a father and a son. Opinions doesn’t count yet until it is proven that he is different. Until then, the shadow of his father becomes his image.

Why is that? Why the judgment?

In this new series, we will be discussing issues in identity of fatherhood and how it affects the son. #LikeFatherLikeSon, every Sunday in the month of May.
