Actuating A Beginners Mind

On beginning fresh

Applying a beginners mind to problem-solving allows for the possible to be freely explored — it is a state of mind that pools in fresh perspectives. This view of the world will better equip us to see our work as larger than ourselves — further freeing our minds to consider an abounding nature of constantly sweeping in new fields of view.

Design as practice

The day-in day-out movement of design is a constant form of practice. How do we describe the act of architects, engineers, doctors, in their day-to-day? — [a constant state of practice ]— so to is the design profession. Establishing such a mind state suggests we are viewing the world with a beginners mind, affording us to enter into motion a trajectory of full possibility.

Practicing a beginners mind requires a dismissal of ego, a shift away of being self-centered that of other-centered.
