How would you feel about an air purifier disguised as an end table? IKEA’s new STARKVIND air purifier is a new kind of cleaner that keeps a low profile while increasing the air quality in your home. Whether you’re looking to save space or reduce clutter, this just might be the product you’re looking for. Read on to find out more!

Air purifiers are a great way to clean the air inside indoor spaces like homes and offices. They’re especially beneficial for people with allergies, asthma, and other breathing-related issues. Environmental influences from car exhaust to forest fires can also impact the air quality in your home. Therefore, having something to cleanse the oxygen you breathe is highly worth considering.

Of course, not everyone has room for or likes the appearance of air purifiers. While there are plenty of great options, some can be large, loud, or unattractive. IKEA is now offering a new kind of air purifier that solves at least a few of these problems. Behold the IKEA STARKVIND air purifier. It’s a side or end table with an air purifier built in; it’s perfect for smaller living spaces or for people who don’t like the look of ordinary purifiers. Let’s dive into this one and see what it’s all about.

An air purifier that saves space and while keeping a low profile

The STARKVIND air purifier is made to function practically within smaller rooms and spaces. It comes in two versions: a stand-alone floor model and a side/end table model. These options offer different possibilities for use in living (or office) spaces. Still, the table version allows for a surface area that isn’t taken up by another device. Not only that, it’s a great way to minimize the appearance of an air purifier for those who aren’t a fan of that look.

STARKVIND has a 3-filter system to purify the air and reduce foul odors

Using a 3-filter purification system, STARKVIND is highly efficacious in cleaning the air. Its pre-filter can capture larger particles, while a dedicated particle filter removes roughly 99.5% of the tinier ones. Both of these filters help eliminate PM 2.5 particles, dust, hair, and pollen. The third filter absorbs gas pollutants like formaldehyde. It also helps to reduce foul odors like smoke and mildew.

It can integrate with the IKEA Home smart app

If you want it to, the STARKVIND air purifier can connect to the TRADFRI gateway. This allows you to control it remotely with IKEA’s Home smart app. You can even set schedules. The air purifier comes with five fan speeds. These can be set individually or automatically via auto mode, which adjusts based on the unit’s air quality sensor. Another feature possible with Home app integration is checking indoor air quality status whenever you want. Handy!

Breathe a little easier with this effective space saving air purifier

These days we’re more aware than ever that the oxygen we consume isn’t as clean as we wish it was. With so many different air purifier options available on a broad spectrum of affordability, there’s no reason not to take advantage of this incredible technology. After all, you can never be too careful when it comes to your health and well-being. That said, not everyone has the space for larger air purifiers (nor the tolerance for their appearances). With IKEA’s STARKVIND air purifier, you now have a device that effectively tucks things away while still getting the job done. You certainly don’t have anything to lose, other than those pesky particles mucking up your air quality.

The IKEA STARKVIND air purifier is slated to become available in October 2021 for $129. For more information, check out the official product page here.
