3 of us are making a game called Red. It is about all things that get lost in translation. It deals with the superficial will to help and the lack of intention to carefully understand. It is a game about a couple of well intentioned idiots stuck in a Groundhog Day of sorts.

I will tell you more about the game in other posts. Here I am recording the art vision I have for RED. For context it is set in Lemut — a planet slightly older, slightly more old fashioned in some ways (much forward in others), closely comparable to our dear Earth.

Color Palette

For the color palette I want the color red to stand out. I think muddy colors in the palette give warmth to the otherwise cold art style I have in mind. The browns and beiges make Lemut feel like a place where human like species could dwell, I suppose. Black simply gives a great contrast to both red and the browns. I don’t think we need the colors to be blocky, there can be shades however I would prefer clean outlines for each object to stand out. Anyhow, so far that is what I think.
