despite subjective appreciations of taste, there are a few reasons why I would really like to drive the new Prius.

It is somewhat difficult to find a used Prius in the market. Apparently users stick to them. And for whatever reason they would do, the longer a vehicle is used the smaller its CO2 footprint becomes. Along with the extraordinary low fuel consumption of the last release of the Prius, there may be not many options available, affordable and practicable nowadays that render so low emissions as a whole if being green is your sort of thing.

There is a remarkable characteristic in the catalog options scheme. Three different price levels are in offer, they differ in the comfort features (heated seats, navigation, leather seats, etc.) however all of them bring the same driving assistance equipment out of the box. These guys are telling me that I can take the most economical version, yet they will not compromise in driving and safety features. I couldn’t agree more with such an statement.

The interior is different. Simply different. Like it or not. HUD and multifunctional display on the top of the dash board keep your eyes focused on the road. Anything else is not important. The middle console disappeared and on its place there is a white plastic polished finish tray. Unusual. Why not? Why should be black and full of crumbs? No controls, no buttons, nothing there. Just an easy to wipe clean plastic tray with an included inductive charger for the next generation of smartphones.

No integration with Apple Car or the analog Android thingy. This is not what I was expecting. However strategy Toyota may have for not implementing Apple Car, still a prominent place has been made for the ubiquitous smartphone. I still can live with it.

I used to drive a hybrid car in the past. The Prius is unexpectedly silent. I couldn’t tell why. Sure the fins spread all over the outside edges play a role.

All in all this is the car I wish I could drive.
