When We Reach AGI, What Exactly We May Get

The holy grail of the AI revolution will be a grand illusion

In December 2024, Vahid Kazemi, and OpenAI technical team member claimed that his company had already achieved AGI, and were keeping it under the wraps.

His stance was clear: OpenAI’s systems were “better than most humans at most tasks,” though not necessarily superior to all humans at every task.

Wait, wasn’t it that way all along since ChatGPT came out at the end of 2022?

I couldn’t help but remember Lincoln:

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

Abraham Lincoln

This X post came after OpenAI removed “AGI” from the terms of its high-profile deal with Microsoft, playing it safe.

O3 was hailed in ARC-AGI test, but OpenAI kept necessary details under the wraps: The training data and costs.

But what is ARC-AGI?
