On August 1, 2023, Medium CEO Tony Stubblebine announced the introduction of the partner program in nine countries but delayed its launch in India, Brazil, and Thailand. He mentioned an expected delay of two months.

I have reached out to Medium regarding the update on the partner program in India and other countries, and they have informed me that the legal and financial teams are currently working on it. They assured that the Medium Partner Program will be introduced in India, Brazil, and Thailand, along with 60 other countries by the end of the year.

Now again after some time, Buster Benson wrote an article providing an update that Medium is actively working on this and the MPP (Medium Partner Program) will launch in early 2024. Since January, I have been attempting to contact Medium, but the response has remained consistent, with the team reiterating that they are working on it.

This marks the third time they have provided the same reply. It’s perplexing why Medium hasn’t been able to launch the partner program in India and other countries. The reply which I got now is:

While it doesn’t directly affect me, it is impacting my publication, which has been selected for the Boost Nominee Pilot. However, due to my location’s inability to join the Medium Partner Program, other writers are unable to benefit from it. I hope the program launches as soon as possible.
