Programs Associate (Remote, EMEA timezone)

Job Description

  • This flexible volunteer work would require a maximum of 10 hours of remote work per week for a period of one year.
  • The program associate will work closely with the leadership at GirlLEAD to deliver all parts of a virtual program. The primary responsibility will be coordinating virtual GirlLEAD boot camps, supporting facilitators in curriculum development, setting up and managing the participant recruitment process, and driving the program’s operational and strategic aspects. GirlLEAD holds several cohorts of training around the year to achieve its goal of bridging the digital gender gap.
  • You will develop, implement, organize, and supervise program plans to support GirlLEAD’s strategic direction and mission and create and manage long-term goals
  • Oversee logistics for executing virtual sessions across cohorts, including audio/visual and PowerPoint presentations, registrations, and materials for our programs.
  • Manage program outreach and communications, including creating content, monitoring and controlling the utilization of program resources, and supporting thought leadership on the program.
  • You will also oversee program budgets and seek grants and learning partners for the organization. You will liaise with the partnership development teams to do this.
  • Manage participant selection process, ensure participant engagement and satisfaction, and serve as program applicants’ primary point of contact.
  • Ensure smooth, easy, and transparent communication with stakeholders and leadership regarding program status and decisions, including producing accurate and timely program reports throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Design and document all data relevant for evaluating program effectiveness, including managing Q&A, and feedback forms, monitoring participant progress during the program, developing a monitoring and evaluation method to assess program strengths, implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved, and identifying areas for improvement in future programs.
  • Support publicity efforts by collecting feedback through 1-on-1s with participants, documenting input from participants, and sharing feedback with facilitators and stakeholders.
  • Recruit facilitators for virtual programs, block facilitator dates, and manage compensation logistics.
  • Contribute to marketing and communications strategy with the marketing team.

Job Requirement

  • At least two years of work experience in a related field (preferably in education, training, fellowships, incubators, or leadership development programs).
  • Experience in group facilitation/training, classroom teaching, organizing and managing events, digital training, and STEM projects.
  • Prior experience setting up and running sessions virtually (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex, etc.), synchronous and asynchronous collaboration tools (Miro, ClickUp, Asana, Slack, Mural, Airtable, etc.) is a requirement.

Community Relations Officer

Job Description

  • This flexible volunteer work would require a maximum of 10 hours of remote work per week for a period of one year.
  • Responsible for the community relations programs of GirlLEAD. You will lead liaison with prospective and current employer partners to ensure GirlLEAD fellows are put in jobs after they complete our programs.
  • The community relations officer will lead the coordination of the GirlLEAD fellows community (alumni and participants of our programs) and represent the GirlLEAD fellows’ community in the core team, thus handling communications with the community and the core team.
  • Ensuring smooth, easy, and transparent communication with GirlLEAD fellows while following up on their career progress, noting challenges, and brainstorming solutions to help move fellows’ careers forward; this will be done through surveys, emails, and 1-on-1s with fellows.
  • Synergise with the marketing team to create engaging content and newsletters for the fellows’ community.
  • Organize projects, events, webinars, training, community development programs, and bonding activities for the community. These may involve recruiting guest speakers and some in-house talk time.
  • Design and document all data relevant for evaluating community and program effectiveness, including managing Q&A, feedback forms, and identifying areas for improvement in future programs.
  • Support publicity efforts by collecting feedback from GirlLEAD fellows, documenting it, and sharing it with leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Design and conceptualize GirlLEAD programs and communities in other countries while liaising with the marketing and communications team to ensure uniformity in decisions and information.
  • Is not charged with the duty of increasing our social visibility BUT with the management of the communities as well as coming up with strategies for keeping the community engagement strong and fostering a sense of belonging amongst GirlLEAD fellows.

Job Requirement

  • Preferably someone who has participated in GirlLEAD programs, but not mandatory.
  • At least two years of work experience in a related field (preferably in education, training, fellowships, incubators, or leadership development programs).
  • Experience in group facilitation/training and classroom teaching.

  • This is an internship role where you would learn on the job while working closely with the Community Relations Officer and the Marketing and Communications Team.
  • Organize projects, events, webinars, training, community development programs, and bonding activities for the fellows’ community. Organizing sessions periodically may involve guest speakers and sometimes, some in-house talk time.
  • Use media events, public events, and group activities to portray a positive image on behalf of the organization.

  • Responsible for developing and realizing partnerships with prospective financial, learning, and employer partners while ensuring mutual benefits for GirlLEAD and partner organizations.
  • Ideate and implement touchpoints for GirlLEAD and prospective partners to work together toward our mission of bridging the gender divide in the technology and business sector.
  • You will liaise with the program management and community relations teams to develop standards for attracting employer and learning partners per GirlLEAD’s mission and vision.
  • Approach new partners, including startups and non-profit organizations, through LinkedIn, events, and cold-emailing while selling GirlLEAD’s value proposition and managing existing partnerships.
  • Effectively strategize for good partnerships and arrive at sustainable frameworks for our new and existing business relationships.
  • Ensure smooth, easy, and transparent communication with partners, funding organizations, and stakeholders.

  • This is an internship role where you would learn on the job while working closely with the Marketing and Communications Lead. You must be interested in taking social media marketing / digital marketing as a career.
  • You will support the organization’s promotional efforts through graphics design, social media marketing, email marketing strategies, and other CRM-driven marketing approaches.
  • Oversee online marketing strategies, including developing online marketing campaigns, monthly content calendars, data deliverables to ensure successful implementation of campaigns against deadlines and objectives, and email lists in alignment with best practices in data management.
  • Develop and manage all audience-focused content, including website content and promotional materials’ creation, print, social media, and targeted email communications, while ensuring compliance of all content according to brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the graphics designer and content writers to develop necessary assets to support marketing campaigns.
  • Responsible for driving traffic on social media to promote our products and growing our social media communities by interacting with followers, responding to social media posts, relevant discussions, and messages, and representing correct information from the relevant departments.
  • Monitor competitor product activity while maintaining a clear and distinctive voice for the GirlLEAD brand.
  • Track metrics and take appropriate action to improve performance — review campaign results and metrics with key internal stakeholders to share and gather insights.

Job Description

  • The people operations officer will work closely with the leadership at GirlLEAD to handle human resource processes, including hiring and recruitment, learning and development, employee experience, and team performance management.
  • You will develop and implement learning strategies and programs for the team to support GirlLEAD’s strategic direction and mission and create and manage long-term goals.
  • Align team members’ goals and performance with the organization’s current and future skills requirements.
  • Identify skill gaps among team members and develop training to bridge those gaps and consequently improve employee performance.
  • Improve the recruitment process and standardize assessment methods and employee engagement.
  • Implement quarterly performance reviews and tracking of metrics highlighting progress and issues of achieving the goals across organization.
  • Manage, track and run processes required to provide a great employee experience, including surveys, peer-to-peer chat, KPIs, rewards and recognition, meetings, etc., throughout the employee lifecycle.

Administrative Operations Intern

Job Description

  • This flexible volunteer work would require 10 to 15 hours of remote work per week for one year.
  • This is an internship role where you would learn on the job while working closely with the executives. In other words, your duties will blend administrative, operational, and executive assistant functions.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and supervisory support for projects and programs while ensuring that all administrative operations for the organization run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Evaluate overall program efficiency, and develop solutions to address unforeseen situations rapidly.
  • Manage executive schedules, communications, and travel arrangements, setting up meetings and events, and driving information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Oversee the performance of other interns, perform quality inspections of work and operating procedures, and develop strategies to increase work productivity and efficiency while assisting teams in setting goals, budgets, and meeting deadlines.   • Research and conduct data to draft documents and policies for review and presentation by boards of directors, committees, and executives.

  • Design images, flyers, and posts using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Canva specifically for our partner events and core programs. GirlLEAD holds several cohorts of training around the year to achieve its goal of bridging the digital gender gap.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create content for other projects.

Job Requirement

  • At least one year of work experience in a related field (preferably in education, training, fellowships, incubators, or leadership development programs).

  • This is an internship role where you would learn on the job while working closely with the Product Development team. You must be interested in taking software engineering as a career.
  • You will work with the product development team on all software development life cycle stages, from reviewing business requirements to design, construction, and test to deployment.
  • Responsible for implementing visual elements that users see and interact with in the products we build.
  • Support the product designer and bridge the gap between design and technical implementation, defining how the application looks and works.
  • Build reusable codes and libraries for future use, and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Job Description

  • This flexible volunteer work would require 10 hours of remote work per week for one year.
  • Create compelling write-ups on the GirlLEAD blog that communicate who we are, what we do, and how we do it.
  • Develop engaging copy for our social media platforms and graphics, and produce six monthly articles for our medium page.
  • Obtain a deep understanding of complex technical subjects and translate them into straightforward, polished, engaging content.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various departments to gather the information that will be shared on the blog.
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with a consistent and cohesive voice across all documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create content for other projects.

Job Requirement

  • At least one year of work experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences (preferably in education, training, non-profit, consultancy, fellowships, incubators, or leadership development programs).

Job Description

  • This flexible volunteer work would require 10 hours of remote work per week for one year.
  • In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, designers, content creators, and other stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our target audience.
  • Execute product roadmap and prioritize features based on stakeholder needs, business goals, and available resources.

  • Develop training materials for our training events and program fellows
  • Create security and data protection settings for our products and platforms.
  • Mentor and guide interns in the Product development team
  • Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design
  • Develop technical reports and documentation on live and closed projects

Data Science/Data Analyst Tutor

Job Description.

  • This flexible volunteer work would require 10 hours of remote work per week for one year.
  • Collaborate with the Programmes team to develop and deliver engaging training programmes for GirlLEAD Fellows.
  • Provide training curriculum and course materials suitable for beginners interested in developing the required skills in Data Science/Analysis
  • Provide mentorship and professional development support to fellows of our Data training after their training programme.
  • Stay updated on the developments in Data Science to contribute to the learning experience of fellows and interested team members.
  • Team up with the Product Development Team to collaborate on projects where expertise would be needed.

Requirements

Strong interest in the development of the technical expertise of the African firm in data science

  • Experienced professional understanding of coding languages such as SQL, Python, R, and SAS.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a professional Data Scientist/Analyst with a proven professional track record
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools and capabilities.
  • Essential facilitation and leadership skills
  • Experience tutoring/mentoring people aged 17–35 years would be ideal.
