Snowdrops! We will ignore the fact that these typically bloom in January in the rest of the country

April. The bipolar season of foggy Duluth skies and the echoing call of ships juxtaposed by blue skies and rushing rivers. The snow has melted, having us crossing our fingers that winter is indeed over.

This is The ‘Sheener. (Psst… we dropped the ‘Glen’ and added an ‘er’.) The ‘Sheener is a trusty, regular update of what’s going on at Glensheen.

In February we introduced $5 Tour Tuesdays. April is your last month to reap the benefits of $5 Tour Tuesdays! Don’t miss it.

Plus, something fun that we added last minute for the kiddos!

Below is what we have queued up for you at Glensheen this month:

Chester Chats

Wednesdays in April
Happy half hour from 7–7:30.
Speakers begin at 7:30.

Chester Chats are the hip talks of the town. Each week will focus on a different subject with relation to Glensheen. Chester Chats are a favorite event of Glensheen fans. These are the kinds of events that your cool, super smart aunt regularly attends.

What are Chester Chats?

They are a fun, fast-moving presentation series of three speakers who will speak on an important topic regarding the future of Duluth. To help promote the casual nature of the event, there will be a cash bar with great wine and local beers.

What is the purpose of Chester Chats?

As a past legislator, Chester Congdon was one of Duluth earliest promoters and boosters. He spent much of his fortune and time not only making Duluth better for all but also, to let the rest of the world know how amazing it is. So in that tradition, Glensheen created a series to help educate the public on important subjects relevant to the prosperity of Duluth.

Presentations will be held in Glensheen’s Formal Dining Room on the main floor of the mansion. Guests will enter through the mansion’s front door.

Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
Happy half hour from 7–7:30.
Speakers begin at 7:30.
This event is free to the public.

Estate-Wide Easter Egg Hunt!

We couldn’t let another year of Easter weekend happen without an Easter Egg Hunt on our perfect playing field. So we’ve put together an Easter Egg Hunt for you this weekend! On Saturday and Sunday morning, 100 candy-filled eggs will be hidden throughout the 12-acre estate.

All eggs will have a free tour pass inside. One egg each day will even have a PREMIER TOUR PASS! For those of you who have not heard of our Premier Tour, this is the mac-daddy of our tours. This is the SEE EVERYTHING, EXCLUSIVELY tour.

All you have to do is buy a tour. Buy a tour, be on the hunt.

(A great thumbnail of me, right guys?)

Your best bet is to purchase your tour tickets online, ahead of time at glensheen.org.

$5 Tour Tuesdays

The same big mansion for a much smaller price. Now, for a limited time anyone who purchases a Classic Tour ticket for a Tuesday will receive a considerable discount. The Classic Tour will be $5, all day on Tuesdays instead of the regular $15.

$5 Tour Tuesdays will be happening now through the end of this month, valid only on the Classic Tour. This is a great time of year to tour the mansion and feel like you have the house to yourself.
