For many, February is a time of appreciation for things like romance and cheap dates. Luckily, Glensheen offers both!
This is The ‘Sheener. (Psst… we dropped the ‘Glen’ and added an ‘er’.) The ‘Sheener is a trusty, regular update of what’s going on. Some cool, new things are happening in February at Glensheen.
We‘ve introduced a new Wednesday night series called Let’s Get Social. We’re launching $5 Tuesdays which is great for all you cheap dates out there. (Wink, wink.)
We also brought back Duluth’s favorite night out… the Flashlight Tour. This weekend’s Flashlight Tours are in for a real treat. Each Flashlight Tour guest will receive chocolate and a beef stick. Yes, a beef stick. Read on for more.

$5 Tour Tuesdays
Starting Valentine’s Day, $5 will get you through the doors of the mansion on Tuesdays. What a perfect cheap date, right? $5 Tuesdays will be happening through April. This is the only time of year the Classic Tour is discounted this heavily.
This is a great time of year to tour the mansion to avoid the crowds and feel like you have the house to yourself.
Let’s Get Social
Continuing the Wednesday night monthly activities, join us at the mansion every Wednesday night in February from 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm for your chance to make all the snaps, tweets and posts at Glensheen your heart desires!
Each week, the night will kick off with a local social media expert who will give a brief 10-minute presentation on one social media skill. Topics may include… Instagram Stories, Facebook Live, Going Viral, etc. After the presentation, Glensheen will serve as your testing ground.
This week at Let’s Get Social we will have award-winning photographer Whitney Summer, with Whitney Summer Photography, who will give a brief presentation on helpful tips and tricks.
Following each presentation, you will be set free in the mansion for a self-guided tour to test out your new-found skills. To give you some ‘content’ for your social posts, our guides will be stationed throughout the mansion to help tell the story of each room and the Congdon family.
This event is open to everyone! No need to be a professional social media marketer or photographer to attend. Whether you are starting off a career in social media marketing or are a Glensheen fan, all are welcome.
Valentine’s Day Weekend Flashlight Tours — Chocolate and a beef stick
Looking for a Valentine’s Day weekend idea that he will enjoy? There will be beef sticks at Glensheen this weekend. Guys like beef sticks. Take a Flashlight Tour, get a beef stick. Plus, there will be chocolate for you too.
It’s quality stuff too folks! Beef sticks are from Old World Meats and the chocolate is from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Duluth MN.
A Flashlight Tour is a perfectly unique date night. Not your typical dinner and a movie. Lead your honey through the darkness of Glensheen on a Flashlight Tour. Afterward, cozy up to a bonfire on the shore of Lake Superior. Sounds like a great date night, right?
Flashlight Tours are Friday and Saturday nights with tour times available between 7:00 pm — 9:00 pm. Be sure to purchase your tickets online, ahead of time at glensheen.org.
