The Glimpse Collective

A collective for creative people who want to use their skills for good.

How your creativity can help right now.

--

Our world suddenly feels very different. Things that seemed impossible have already happened. There are more changes to come.

Some of these changes are causing real anxiety and suffering. Others are more positive, helping us remember what’s most important in our lives.

So what should we do? How can a group of creative people help in this crisis?

None of us have all the answers yet, so we’re going to try some things out. Over the next couple of weeks Glimpse is going to start some open creative projects to see what we can do together.

(Glimpse is a collective of creative people who use their skills for good. We support charities like Choose Love and WWF, and run our own campaigns that aim to show a ‘glimpse’ of the more beautiful world that’s possible.)

Both of the projects below will be run entirely run by volunteers, working from home. If you’d like to join the collective, please visit our website and sign up using the form.

Project 1 — Little Village

Little Village is a “toy bank” which provides toys, books and essential items to families who need some extra help. Now that schools are closed in London, thousands of kids are lacking the basic things they need for a happy childhood.

Last week their CEO Sophia got in touch, and asked if we could help her raise money and boost the profile of the charity during the current crisis. This is a clear, tangible project that we can get our teeth into right now.

We need copywriters, strategists, designers, social media experts, fundraising folk, people with good networks, and keen beans.

Interested? Join the Little Village / Glimpse Zoom on Thursday at 2pm BST.

Project 2 — #WhatMatters

This project is about recording the things we’re learning through the pandemic, and presenting them in a creative way.

Cheering key workers? Falling in love with nature? Helping your neighbours? Millions of us are finding new behaviours and mindsets that we might want to keep, after this crisis fades.

How do we make sure that these lessons stay with us? How can we spark a conversation about what is most important in our lives, and how we want to rebuild our lives, society and culture?

Our working title is #WhatMatters. We need creatives, strategists, artists, designers, coders — basically everyone on this one. Interested?

Join the Zoom — Friday April 17th, 1400 BST.

Sign up here.

Over the coming weeks, we’re hoping to run more projects like these. If you’d like to hear about them, please join us at www.weglimpse.co or on Instagram @weglimpse.

And if you have an idea for something or someone we should support, please get in touch.
